Britax Roundabout Car Seat

I am just wondering if any of you have the Britax Roundabout car seat for your infant? If so, what do you think?
I am just trying to make sure the $219 investment is worth it. From what I hear, these are the best...but I am just trying to make sure it's worth it over a Graco...

We have an SUV, so space is not an issue...

I just need to decide soon. My little man is getting too tall for his pumpkin seat!

Thanks!! :)

What can I do next?

I had the Britix car seat for my first son and then my second son use it to. It was the best car seat I have evr owned. My kids were very comfortable in it, even on long car trips. It is worth the money and you can always hang on to it if you plan on having another child. The only down fall is that they are kinda heavy so when we would fly to Florida it was a hassle until I found the travel bag to put it in that had wheels. Other then that it was a great car seat.

My mother is a Dr. and this is the only one that she would buy! We got it as a first b-day gift for our now 2 yr old. She loves the CowMooflague seat - it is very roomy and comfortable. It is a big chair but if size is not an issue - then no problems! We are looking to buy another one for our "Moose" 6 mo old. We found our first one on sale over the net - free shipping too! Last time I went into Babies R Us they had a few Britax seats on clearance (new patterns are coming out!) - worth a try still. Good luck!

Hi J.,
I have this car seat and love it. It has plenty of room for my little guy to grow. I was able to get mine on sale at Target so the price was not a big issue. I mostly looked at the ratings of other parents online and it had the most positive responses. They are safe too so that can put your mind at ease. Try to look for a better deal though $219 seems kinda high.
Good luck,
T.

I have the Roundabout and just love it! We bought it because the Marathon was too tall to safely fit in my car rear-facing. I am glad we did now. I have read reviews on the Marathon and the Decathlon that say how easily a toddler can loosen the straps on those seats, and the Roundabout, having a different method (a button) does not have that issue. Britax seats are said to be the easiest to install and I can vouch for that -- my Roundabout is simple and quick. I very much recommend it! Worth the extra $$.

Hi! I have the Britax Roundabout. My child is now 3 and still in it. I love it! It is so easy to get him in and out of, and still looks in perfect condition. It has great safety ratings which is why I got it in the first place. I'd highly recommend it. Hope that helps!!

I don't have the Britax. My sister has it and loves it. Just remember as you switch seats to keep it rear facing. The baby needs to be one year old (AND 20 pounds) to be in a forward facing seat. I'm sure you already know, but just wanted to give you a gentle reminder! :)

We have 2 Britax Marathons. They are a little bigger than the roundabout, but we love it. My kids can ride for long periods of time without getting uncomfortable. They can sit in them forever, I think until 70 pounds. They are also so safe. For a car seat that great I think the price is definetly worth it.

We had this video going around our playgroup message board. You might want to watch it and read the additional message on the side about the family. Warning it will make you cry. At least it did me. cut and paste the URL to your browser. worth the watch.

The Roundabout IS very expensive, but we had read that it had the highest safety rating, so we splurged (is safety really a splurge?) and got the Roundabout for my car, which our son rides in the most. We then, needed a second carseat for my husband's car, so we purchased a Graco for about $75. I think both are okay, but I can tell you that, comparing them on a daily basis, the Roundabout seems much more substantial, it is more comfortable for him, it was easier to install, AND the straps tighten and loosen the way they should (the Graco can sometimes get twisted and too loose).

I don't think you can go wrong because I believe that they are both safe (I wouldn't put my little guy in it if I didn't think so), but the Roundabout is definitely better.

I don't think they are worth it. We've had a Graco and several other brands over the years (been using carseats/booster seats for 6 years now). Yes, they are supposed to be the best but every carseat sold has to meet strict safety guidelines and will protect your child in a crash. It's very easy to fall into "mommy guilt" about not buying the most expensive carseat out there... something I've struggled with alot, but it's simply not in our budget. I have big issues with this carseat debate... many times britex owners come across as saying "you don't love your kids as much as I love mine because you won't buy one". I know most don't really mean it... but that is the way it comes across most of the time. Just buy the carseat you can afford and know your child will be protected in a crash (check for recalls first!).

i happen to have both. bought the britax for my first child and then moved her into the graco when my son was old enough for a bigger car seat. i like the britax so much more: easier to tighten kids into the straps (the graco is a continuous loop system that requires many pulls and adjustments to tighten securely), britax appears more comfortable and sits higher, you can take off the cover to wash it... that being said, if price is what it really comes down to for you, you obviously know the graco is safe and will do. one further thing...you shouldn't have to pay more than $200 total for a britax roundabout. i got mine new on ebay for $180 (including shipping) and found other similar deals at other places online. hope that helps...

It is supposed to be the best on the market. I'd go for it... if you want to get the best.
Any car seat will be fine but that is supposed to be the ultimate car seat. Either way, if money is the concern... Graco has been around for many years and have always been a favorite for our family.
Good luck with your decision.
