My friend is getting married in Hawaii. I am planning the bridal shower and need some help. I have never done this before and so any ideas would be great. As far as games, food, prizes, ect. I think we are going to do this in between meals so I am thinking more snack type foods. I am making the invites. But any suggestions would be wonderful!

Thanks

What can I do next?

I am not sure when the Bridal shower is however if you have time theres a website called oriental trading that you could do a hawaii (luau) theme. I would only order things if you are keeping it in town so u don't have to carry everything to Hawaii.
For my bachelorette party we started at a friends house and had a couple of drinks and they surprised me with a traditional stripper. Then we had a chauffer to take us to downtown denver to wynkoop for dinner and pool. then we got picked up and headed closer to home by going to a night club to dance, we felt the club was boring and ended up in a strip bar. (THANK GOD THERE WERE MEN D!!

My niece is going to Hawaii after the wedding so her shower had fruit bowl made to look like flowers. Also one game was she had asked the husbad some questions before and then printed questions for all of us like what super hero he would want to be, what is her favorite kind of movie. where did they meet, when or where he proposed. another one was make a list of stuff people might have in there purse and then ask if they have any of the things.

I just went to a bridal shower and they did something different. It is always hard to decide what to get her for the shower so make it easy for the guests. Have a recipe shower. Each guest brings their favortie recipe, but the gift is that they bring all the ingredients that are needed to make that recipe. Like a cookie sheet and the chocolate chips, a bowl, spoon etc to make the chocolate chip cookie recipe. That way she has lots of different recipes to try later. Good luck

You can google "Bridal Shower Games", there are sites that have free downloadable games, already done. Then for food I would suggest all of the yummy premade appetizers they carry at Sam's & costco. The quiche's are awesome, mini meatballs with a pomegranate/chipoltle sauce (like tastefully simpl has), Spalotka (spelling?)Greek appetizer in Phyllo dough w/ feta & spinach. Chips & salsa, fondue with breads, fruits & such. Hope this helps. G

One of the most special things I recieved at my bridal shower was a favorite recipe from each of the guests that came and then they were all placed in a cookbook. I am so happy to have it since it reminds me of that day and the special people in my life.

There are so many things you can do...I would plan a budget first-that way you know what to plan for. Also, I would have the brides-maids join and help out too, if possible. Petite snacks that are "girly" organized nicely will make it look professional and wedding like.

Chocolate covered Strawberries are so easy to make and are perfect. (let me know if you need to know how to melt the chocolate) Little tea sandwiches are cute....you can find recipes online with cream cheese and cucumbers. Also, it had more of a touch you can get a flower cookie cutter and cut the sandwhiches. Safeway or King Soopers as their line of little appetizers...like cream puffs etc.-- you can't go wrong.

Just have fun and plan a head!

Here are some ideas: You could do a big chocolate chip cookie "cake" instead of a traditional cake. You could have a polaroid camera to take a pic of each guest and put it in an album. There are photo albums that hold small polaroid pictures w space around it for people to sign/leave comments. You also could have a little multi-choice quiz about the bride's favorites things. The recipe idea is an excellent idea, too. It's been 7 yrs and I still use the recipes from my shower. If you look online there are all kinds of websites that have shower games. Or go to the bookstore~there are tons of books on shower games too.

I've given a few bridal showers in the past and they are fun. Archiver's has some great new items for making invites (easy too). They are in Aurora, Westminster, and Highlands Ranch (online too). As for food, a few easy finger foods plus some drinks is easy. Rachael Ray has easy ideas, I would base it on your friends favorite foods or maybe where their honeymoon will be?? Fruit salad served in a pineapple, etc. (or where they met ?). Party City has a lot of stuff for decorations and games; a fun idea is a tray of items related to newlyweds that everyone gets to look at for 1 min (or 30 sec.), then it's removed from the room and see who can remember the most items! good luck!!!
