I am wondering if any of you Mom's know if it is okay to take 81 mg (baby aspirin) while breastfeeding a 2 year old 2-3 times/day? I have been prescribed this low dose aspirin/once daily but have not started taking it yet. I am receiving alot of conflicting advice.
Thanks!

I would ween the child since he is plenty old enough for regular milk, that way you will not have to worry about any effects.

What does your OB and pediatrician say? I would check with them and see if it's safe. If it's absolutely necessary for your health you may want to consider weaning.

Good luck!

First off, congrats on nursing a toddler, wish more people would. No need to force wean, self weaning is MUCH healthier. It sounds fine to me, it's not a newborn. If you're worried check the le leche league site. I donated breast milk for over a year & they allowed alot more than you'd think. You can't take asprin while pg because of risk of miscarriage, not a factor now.

Just me but I would not take asprin while I am breast feeding. Unless your life is at risk. That is different. I was told that if you can take something while pregnant then you can take it while BF. As far as I know asprin is a no no while pregnant.
Again I say this is just me.
Also I didn't look but Kelly mom will have good trustworthy info about this.
