I am nursing my new born (1wk today) and it is going well, besides all the spit up. But anyways my milk is fully in it was in about 5 days ago, it is really yellow I notice though and I dont remember how it was with my son. I am pretty sure I do not remember it being this yellow. Is this normal?

What can I do next?

Yellow means it has lots of fat in it. Perfectly fine. Some mom's produce more of a fatty milk than others do, and are different with each baby. Sometimes it's a reflection of your diet, other times a mom can eat an almost perfect diet and still produce very fatty milk. Relaxe. Your normal!

When I froze mine it actually had an orange-yellow tint to it, especially the fat at the top! In general, there is nothing you need to worry about, smell, taste, or color unless you are on medication that could interfere with milk production. Keep up the good work! :)

Yellow is great! It has lots of fat and nutrients in it. Plus you are probably still getting a little transitional milk still which is meant to help "bulk" the baby up after the little bit of weight loss while she waited until your milk came in. If you're still not sure though, just call the pediatrician, that's what they are there for.

Glad to hear everything is going well! Congratulations :)
I do remember my milk being yellow in color too. Maybe it is just the begining phase of your milk production or just how your body is. Looking back, I think it eventually looked creamier in color as time went on. Not to worry! Enjoy your little bundle!

Perfectly normal and good for your baby--milk adjusts to what the baby needs at each stage of her life. Higher fat is good for a newborn. As your baby gets older it may look pale to you but that is normal too. IF you have any questions about bf, it is best to contact a lactation expert--many Drs are sadly not educated on natural feeding of babies.
