That is a very common thing....many women have skin darkening in different places on their body especially nipples when they are pregnant. As far as I know or have ever heard they never go back to the original color completely.
I would like to find out from you Moms about post pregnancy body changes... I gave birth to my baby girl about 5 mos ago (she is 4 mos 3 wks old), and my breast niples got darker during pregnancy and they're still dark - I'm wondering if any of you had the same thing happened to you, and when did your nipple color went back to your previous color (in my case they were pink before & now they are dark brown)... I would appreciate any info, specially if you can give me an stimation on the time it took for your nipples to go back to pre-pregnancy color... Thank You !!!
Firts of all, "Thank You ladies for your responses".... So I actually got to find out that its pretty common for this to happen, I liked one response in particular - the darkening of the nipple might be to help babies to find the breast easier for feeding (that was pretty neat)... Like I mentioned to the ladies -I'm not concerned to be back to my beautiful Me - just curious (because my priority now is to care for my beautiful little princess) !!!
Thanks again,

I read that nipple darkening is nature's way of making your nipples easier for your baby to find and feed from. I know mine lightened somewhat a while after my daughter was born, then more after I stopped breastfeeding, but I don't recall how long it took.
Mine have lightened a little.... but they are still darker than they were before babies.
The things we endure.

Just checked...mine are pink again. I don't know when, but at some point they returned to normal.
Hi M.,
The same exact thing happened to me during my pregnancy. My daughter is now a year old, and they are pretty much back to normal. I don't know when they started to lighten up, I think it was gradual, but the other day I actually noticed that they weren't dark anymore. The same happened with the "linea nigra" the dark line that appeared on my pregnancy tummy....that one's gone too.
Hope this helps...
