Tell the sitter to put the bag in a cup of hot water so that she can put it in a bottle and feed it to your baby. That's what my husband would do with my frozen breast milk when I was at work.
I ccurrently have frozen breast milk thawing at room temp. How long can it stay out before spoiling? I forgot to take it out of the freezer for the sitter :( How long before it thaws completely? (4 oz)
Thanks gals! You guys are awesome. Well I let ir sit out for hour n a half as it was 40% thawed. I immediately put it in the fridge. What do you think??

Keep it in the fridge. If it is not completely thawed by the time your sitter needs in, she can put the bag in some warm water. That will thaw it fast.
The book I got from the hospital says not to store thawed breast milk at room temp. and that it can keep in the fridge for 24 hours and not to refreeze. how fast it thaws is really going to depend on how warm your house is and how frozen it is, i store mine in a chest freezer, in the bottom, and it takes a lot longer to thaw from there than when I kept it in my regular freezer. but I'd say that it should mostly thaw in a couple of hours, I'd just put it in the fridge then and you should be good.
Thaw in the fridge. If it's still a tiny bit frozen later on the baby sitter can bring it to temp in fairly warm water, not super hot though.
Yup. I agree with the other mommas... fridge it, and the sitter can thaw it in water. It actually heats up faster than you would think!

This link has a chart that says how long breastmilk is good for when frozen, refridgereated, etc. It also has a 'keep or dump' chart for re-using guidelines. :)
