P.M.
I see surgeon Dr. Hitchcock in the Georgetown Medical Bldg. next to Shawnee Mission Medical Center. My Gyn sent me to him years ago for breast problems.
A lump was recently discovered in my right breast. The needle biopsy came back as undiagnostic so they are going to do surgery to remove it. Because of the size I am concerned about looking lop sidded and the scaring. The surgeon I consulted with today does not go in through the arm pit as I have heard it was the new way to do these procedure. Does anyone know a surgeon that will go in under the arm pit and perform the cosmetic surgery to make my breast look even?

I just wanted to say that I'm sorry you're having to go through this. I'm sure it's pretty scary. If there's something I can help with, please let me know.

Women's surgery is her specialty. I know lots of people who think she is the greatest thing next to white bread. You might call her office and see if she is what you are looking for.
I second the Amie Jew referral. I had a turmor that was about 1/2 lb. I do have lop-side issues that I working on getting resolved now, (I was pregnant when they had to remove the tumor and did not do anything other than what was medically necessary for complication sake). But, Dr. Jew is the best, ask any Dr in the city that knows anything about breast issues. She is very nice, soft spoken and very good. I have huge scaring issues and she did a great job. I have a scar that is rather large due to the size of my tumor and it is the best scar I have. She can be hard to get into - I've heard - I didn't have a problem she got me in the same week maybe becuase I was prego but still... If you have any lopside questions - how to deal, what to expect let me know. I'll be happy to fill you in.
