Breakfast Ideas Needed for 10-Month-Old

My daughter used to love her morning cereal (rice, oatmeal, mixed grain), but recently will only eat half even when I mix it with fruit. She just doesn't seem into it. She's also become way more interested in food she can feed herself. Any ideas on what other items I can feed her for breakfast? (She only has two teeth so I can give her pea-sized items to feed herself, but I'm not willing to go bigger than that.) Thanks for your help!

What can I do next?

Even without teeth, I gave my daughters dry cherrios w/ a glass a milk, or dry toast - yoghurt or fresh fruit - bananas, berries - or homemade applesauce (without all the sugar). Fruit salad was also a staple in our house -again, homemade so there wasn't so much sugar - but they did get the glory of the mandarin oranges or marchino cherries!

I've gone away from mixing cereal from the box and buying cereal in jars. For my 10 month old I buy the 3rd foods cereals and oatmeals which are mixed with fruit. My daughter doesn't have any teeth yet and won't eat anything chunky so I don't have many options. You could always cut up bananas into little pieces for her. good luck!!

Try giving her actual fruit, like banana. Cut them into small chunks, she should be old enough to start mashing them even if she doesn't have teeth yet. You can also try giving her bits of jarred pears (canned pears taste metalic) That may help. It isn't too soon for her, she'll still get all the nutrients she'll need; my daughter wouldn't eat more than 3-4 small bites of jarred baby food, she would only eat food right off my plate. Good luck.

Yogurt
soft bananas or pears
Puffs (Gerber, Beechnut, or Meijer brands) dissolve in mouth

Kids can use those two teeth and their gums to mash up a lot of foods...
even very soft homemade pancakes and eggs!

good luck! My daughter still likes to try new foods... she started on "grown-up" foods at 10 months as well!

Anything we ate she had to as well! It's a good thing! Have fun!
