Hey momma's! My son hates pureed or mashed up (this also includes oatmeal) food ever since he was 5 months old. He's been eating actual solids. Before I was to scared to really give him anything for fear of choking mostly just the quickly dissolving organic puffs, but now that he is older and feeding himself I am at a loss as to what to give him for breakfast. He does eat Kix cereal and LOVES it, but I'm sure he is getting bored of it. Yogurt and avacados he sometimes eats. For our other meals I usually give him what I eat, but I usually have a slimfast or something else like it. Oh and no fear I do give him all the formula he needs, but I also want him to get into the habit of the three main meals with me.

What can I do next?

bananas, toast, eggs, french toast, waffles, pancakes, sausage...my youngest is almost 4, this is all I can think of! But breakfast was always relatively easy for me because many traditional breakfast foods are pretty easy to eat. Good luck to you!

Banana with almond butter (cut up), scrambled or boiled eggs (mine had eggs at around 6 months), and I wholeheartedly second the "chicken in a basket"....my baby LOVES that! If your baby will eat beans then that's a great source of protein! Cottage cheese, cheese, banana bread.... :)

Hi.....
Here's a couple of ideas.......boil an egg or two.......peel it, cut it up into little peices and put alittle butter, salt and pepper on it. It's good....

When I was younger, not that young, but younger, my Mom made a "chicken in a basket" breakfast.........take a peice of bread, cut out a hole in the middle, leaving the crust with a little white......butter both sides, put it on a griddle or in a frying pan, crack and egg and put it in the middle of the bread.......cook however you like the eggs......be sure to cook the middle part with butter on it too and place it on top when the egg is done.......

There's also oatmeal, cream of wheat and other healthy things to add to his diet.....

Good Luck and take care.

Van's frozen waffels spread with yogurt and blueberry halves- my son's fave! Also bananas, cheerios, plums, RASPBERRIES, and CHERRIES (pitted and cut up)! (I recommend feeding the latter to your son naked (your son, not you:) to keep the bloody massacre off of his clothes. Cherries have a sneaky way of by-passing any bib!
My son likes steamed potatoes or sweet potatoes and peas for lunch or dinner. Have you tried Stoneyfield organic yobaby yogurt? Delish! Bon appetit!

I am going to watch the other answers because I have the same problem. My 11 month old baby girl went on strike with the purees around three months ago. I finally saw the correlation between the fact that she would more often eat table food than baby food.

With that said, have you tried scrambled eggs with just the egg whites? Also, I sometimes give her whole wheat toast and since I still have jars of baby food left, I use it like jelly and spread it on top. My daughter also likes bananas so she usually has some banana in the morning.

Good luck!
