I just had my first ever brazilian wax about two weeks ago and didn't have too many problems. Things were going great until I noticed that my nether regions was starting to have what looked like a man's 5 o'clock beard. Also, I was told that the hair is supposed to grow back thinner and less but the hairs that are growing back are still thick and look as if i shaved and not waxed. Is this normal after the first time? Do I have to just wait until I can wax again? P.S: the pricklyness of the hairs is driving me crazy

What can I do next?

Yes, that is normal. The first wax got the hair that was grown out. Now the new hair that had not been exposed is growing out. After the 3rd wax, things should start to even out, as far as the hair growth rate. It is uncomfortable, there really isn't much to do about that. It's just the price of you pay, but a small one in the long run. It will grow back thinner and softer eventually, you just have to be consistent with the waxing.

it sounds to me as if the person didn't do it right and the hair broke off instead of being pulled out. There is a product I use call "Slow grow" after I do mine and if you use it every day the waxing should last at least 4 weeks. I'd find a new wax person or buy the supplies and do it yourself. I use the chocolate hot wax and love it!

I've been an esthetician for years now and it is normal. With waxing it takes a few 'waxes' before you notice the thinner hair regrowth, this can also depend on how thick your hair is to begin with. Stick with it cos its worth it in the long run. As it grows back exfoliate gently with a loofah or body scrub to help the new hair come through and prevent ingrown hairs, which are even itchier.

ditto momma11... it takes a couple goes unless you grow it out for a few months ahead of time and then trim it down to 1/2 inch before waxing. It also takes some TIME before waxing creates thinner softer hair. As a brunette, it takes about 6 months - year before my hair starts coming in thinner and softer. (Which I know because I go rounds on shaving and waxing). LOVE brazillians, btw.

Hair does grow back thinner, but it takes several times, especially in that region. Hair grows at different rates so it shouldn't be that prickly, but since its a new feeling, it might bother you. You will have to wait until the hair is long enough to do it again and hopefully you will get used to the feeling. It its really bothering you then maybe you can try a cream for vaginal itching with a numbing agent?
