I'm planning a family vacation to Branson in September and was hoping for some travel tips and pointers. It will be me, my husband and our two girls (3 years old and 1 year old). I've never been, so I'm not sure what to expect/what to see and do.

What are some MUST sees & dos? Any recommendations on where to stay? Or where NOT to stay?

Thank in advance for your help!

What can I do next?

we went a couple months ago w/a 2 1/2 yr old and 12 yr old- both really enjoyed the kirby vanburch magic show w/live animals and the branson belle dinner cruse/showboat

It is cheaper to get alot of tickets online- even though there is places there that tell you you can get big discounts on tickets or free you have to go to a timeshare type thing for 1/2 a day

hope this helps and enjoy :)

We stayed at Stormy point resort and loved it! I have a 3 and a 5 year old and they thought it was great! For parents the Titanic museum is great!

if you can afford it, we've loved stillwater and the resort at indian point. both are condos, so you get two seperate bedrooms, a kitchen, and a living room. The second we just stayed at and LOVED it, it had an indoor pool area with a big pool, a kiddie pool and a hot tub. Very fun.

And we never go down without going to Silver Dollar City. Our resort had 2 days for the price of 1 tickets, which was awesome. We took our 3 year old down the marvel cave, thinking she would be scared, but she loved it and wanted to do it again! (too bad mommy and daddy were too tired!) We also went to the butterfly palace, which was fun but expensive. But it was cool having butterflies land on our daughter. :-)

I recommend not going to the wax museum, the quality is terrible. If you like Titanic, the titanic museum is really neat, although sad. The Ripley's believe it or not museum is also pretty fun.

And there's a Grand Country place with indoor mini golf, an awesome buffet (children under 4 free!) and lots of other fun stuff.

We just got back and we had a great time. :-)

we went this weekend and had a great time! we stayed at Thousand Hills condos which I highly recommend. Clean, fair priced, spacious and excellent location. The swimming pool was a great feature. I am not sure what your budget is, but I would highly recommend the Dixie Stampede. My kids (6 and 9) were in awe for 2 hours!! Younger kids would be as well. We also saw the Noah Musical which was absolutely amazing if that is something you are interested in. The landing has lots of great shopping and a fountain/water show at night where the fountains turn colors. If you go through Springfield on the way down, stop at Lamberts to eat...YUMMY!!!

I don't know how long you will be there, but the Grand Country Inn is very affordable and has a water park that is free if you stay there. It is $15 per day if you are not guests. Yours might be young enough to be free. The downside is that it is basically like a Motel 6, so if you are expecting something nice, you will be disappointed. The Wax Museum is too young for your kids. Mine are in elementary, and they didn't know who 1/2 the people in there were.

Have fun!
