The one I've heard is: a Mommy-to-be looks naturally attractive when she carries a boy. However, a daughter "steals" the Mommy-to-be's beauty -- so Mommy doesn't look so good.
So I only have 7 weeks to go until my due date, and I am getting very anxious and excited. My husband and I were unable to figure out if we are having a boy or a girl, and I was thinking it would be a lot of fun to hear all of the wives tales on ways to find out what you are having. So far I've heard the date of conception with the age of mother at conception if they are even its a girl, if odd it's a boy. I'm amazed at how often this actually works out, I haven't found anyone to disprove it yet. I've heard that morning sickness means your having a boy. What else is out there?

I had morning sickness and carried all my weight in the front and I had a boy! Best of luck to you!
Well I had no morning sickness and I had a boy. So that kinda makes that one no so true. I craved sweets, someone told me that means a boy too. This should be fun to hear.
My grandmother used to say if you can tell if you are pregnant from the back then you are having a girl (meaning that your butt and hips are wider). If your stomach sticks straight out and looks like a basketball you are having a boy. Good luck!
You asked for old wives tales.....Mom-to-be looks wider from the back if it is a girl; If she carries the baby more upfront and looks rounder, it is a boy. Both predictions came true for me. Also...another one that I heard...very funny one...your sex drive (early on) determines whether you are carrying a girl or boy....the better the sex drive, the bigger the chance of having a boy. I don't think it holds a lot of merit but if you host an informal survey, with a few close friends, there may be a slight truth to this (or, at the very least, is good for a laugh!)
Re. morning sickness....didn't have much with either child.
Best of health to you and your hubby. Stay positive and don't listen to bad delivery stories from now until then. Enjoy this time now. It will get even better very soon!
I had 2 boys and 2 girls and they were all so different that nobody could have guessed. I was never sick with any of them so that isn't true. Just enjoy the experience and good luck!
How fun that you are not finding out the gender of your baby. We did that with both of our children, and my predictions were incorrect for both. My sister in law is in labor right now and it is so exciting to try and guess what she is having. I did have more of a sex drive with my boy, however much more morning sickness with my girl. I also spread more in the back with my boy, and carried all in front with my girl. The chinese calendar was correct with my girl, but wrong with my boy. The date of conception rule that you said above is true for my boy. I don't remember the exact date of conception with my girl -- it was a few years back. Best of luck.
