I have another questions about weaning. I have a 14 month old daughter. I am trying to wan her off the bottle. She only takes one in the morning first thing. The rest of the day it is the sippy cup. How do I get rid of that last bottle. She seems really to enjoy it. She also uses a binky at naptime ect.... I don't want to wean her from both at the same time. I am going to hold off with the binky. But her ped. wants her off the bottle already. Any tips to make the transition easier than cold turkey?

At this age, out of sight out of mind! Just replace that first bottle with a sippy cup of milk and put the bottles away. We just did the same thing with our newly 1 year old and it worked like a charm!

My son was almost 18 months when we weaned him and the way i did it was water down his milk in his botle and he prefered drinking milk out of the sippy cu because it tasted right.

Each day i would add 1 oz more water and 1 oz less milk.

Try providing her with something that she doesn't like in the bottle every morning and milk in the sippy cup. This way whe will choose to drink out of the sippy cup. I tried this with all 3 of my kids and worked great by the time they were 1yr.

Try a straw. My daughter really enjoyed picking out a colored straw for her morning drink.
