Now i just need to know what kind of food to buy and bathing soap, he needs MAMA's touch. lol

go to petfinder.com. you can search for the type of dog you want, there are lots of babies if you want a baby and there are resources to find rescue orgs for certain breeds. We just found a cockapoo on the site and adopted her and we love her! good luck

Garland Animal Control has one! Cute as a button! Call them about it or go by there because it will be adoptable after 1pm on Monday! It won't last long!

Bostons are great, intelligent dogs. Initially, they are extremely spastic and can jump nearly as high as a counter top. They will nip, but any puppy will nip. So just keep that in mind with your 1 year old. Other than that, they are great animals to have in your family.

Pound puppies are great too. I've recently learned that mixed breeds are less likely to have health problems.

Just wanted to chime in here and say that getting a puppy for Christmas is rarely a good idea. I used to breed and I would NEVER sell a puppy for a Christmas present for many reason. Several months after the holidays there is a huge influx of puppies to shelters (many of which are put to sleep because the shelter gets full). At this point, you are unlikely to even find a reputable breeder who has pups available. Most reputable breeders use wait lists for there pups and/or just only have one or two litters a year. I know it sounds exciting to have a puppy for Christmas morning, but please reconsider. Maybe instead, you can purchase the items needed for the puppy and then give them a voucher for the actual puppy. Then as a family you can find the perfect dog. And, if you wait a few months, you could probably even find a Boston Terrier at the shelter.

If you are insistant, here is the Boston Terrier Club of America's breeder referral page: http://www.bostonterrierclubofamerica.org/referral.html

Good luck, and I would be happy to answer questions if you have any.

Friends of mine have one and he is great with their 22-month-old daughter. He was part of the family first and had no jealousy issues or anything. Sorry, I don't know where you can get one.

I have a Boston Terrier and many firends in rescue. I would not want to encourage someone looking for a Christmas pet persay. However here are some links to some great rescues, many of the wonderful volunteers are my friends. You can get great information from the sites below on whether one wouldbe a good fit. I love them and are very hooked. I am now waiting on a one girl to be finished with her show career and hopefully she will be joining our family.

http://www.texasbostons.com/ This is a group right here in North Texas

http://houstonbostonrescue.org/index.php

http://www.abtr.net/index.html One of the best rescues in the nation. They have volunteers all over and can arrange transport for the right family.

http://www.dallasbts.com/ A wonderful meet up group for the dallas area. I have been a member for 4 years. we have a meet up once a month here in Plano, check out the dates and times, you can come by and meet us and get some wonderful advice on owning a Boston.

Please research the breed carefully. While I do not trust mone with babies, he is way rambunctuos. But he was not raised with them either. The rescue groups should all have links to Breed clubs where you can get info on great breeders. However there are usually waiting lists as they usually have very small liters. You do not want to look for a dog for christmas but a breeder with ethics, that does not over breed and puts the bitches health first.
