I use the Clek olli booster seat (from Target) I like it because it still utilizes the latch system. It has no back but the Oobr booster has a back on it if that's what you prefer.
I have a 4.5 year old daughter...while her carseat still fits her and very comfortably (up to 100 lbs) Im considering booster seats for our 2 cars. Any recommendations of your favorite and why? There are so many options-Im lost! Information overload!!!

I have 2 sunshine kids monterey booster seat. It is a sturdy seat which has one of the top belt positioning on the market. It is a tad pricy but it is well worth it. I plan on getting 2 more for my daughter when she is ready. You really have to be careful with the 3-1 there was a huge study done saying that the belt positioning in a lot of these systems do not fit properly as a booster. Which is a huge safety issue. We had a eddie bauer 3-1 and I hated it as a booster. The monterey comes in all sorts of colors, has better side and head protection than most boosters. It does have the latch system to keep the seat in place. My son is almost 6 and still falls asleep in the car and I couldn't imagine him in a booster without the back I feel that he would just fall over. He will be in this booster for quite a while. It also is adjustable at the sides so they can grow with your child. The back does come off so it can just be the bottom seat. The cup holders are deep enough for drinks. It is a very very good booster I LOVE it.

For safety reasons I would keep your daughter in her current car seat until she out grows it. The safest place for her is in a 5 point harness. What is the reason behind wanting to buy new car seats?
I liked the Evenflo no back booster seats. They are usually recommeded for ages 4 and up...35 to 100 lbs. so your daughter should be fine.
You car seat doesn't harness to 100lbs, if its a combo seat it will only harness to 40lbs (unless its a Graco Nautilus or Britax Frontier), and then it is a booster to 100lbs. PLEASE read the manual, a forward facing car seat is outgrown when one of three things happens; the child goes over the weight limit for the harness (yours is 40lbs unless one stated above), the shoulders go over the top harness slot, or the ears are level with the seat back. If even ONE of these things happens, the child has outgrown the car seat and must be moved to another at once.
If she still fits in the car seat she has, leave her in it provided she still fits and its not expired (6yrs expiration on car seats). Depending on her weight, she's not big enough for a booster if she's under 40lbs bare minimum, preferrably 50lbs for a booster seat.
If you DO insist on a booster seat for her, MAKE SURE it is a high back booster seat. No back booster seats provide ZERO side impact protection and for a 4.5yr old they need that to survive a crash.
Graco Nautilus is a great option, its $150 will harness to 65lbs, booster to 100lbs.
For booster seats, the Graco Turbobooster fits smaller children well, as does the Sunshine Kids Monterey. wE own both and like both, the Monterey is more padded and comfortable according to my 8yr old who still rides in the Monterey. But always make sure its a high back.
I recently did a lot of research on booster seats. My daughter is 6 1/2 now, and she was in her Britax Marathon until just a few months ago. She now has a Britax Frontier. I wanted a booster that uses the latch system to hold it in place, and I also wanted one that uses a 5-point harness. This is a great seat. Most boosters don't latch...they just sit on top of the car's seat, and the car's seatbelt is used to secure the child. This doesn't seem like the safest option, in my opinion.

Love this car seat!! Easy to transfer from car to car.
We recently purchased a Graco Nautilus 3-in-1 for my son, who is almost 3 and weighs about 35 pounds. I like it because they can remain in a 5-point harness up to 65 lbs, which is safer. Once they outgrow the harness-limit, they can remain in the seat with a seatbelt, and eventually until they are big enough that you can remove the back. The important thing to remember is that each time your child grows into the next level of car travel, they take a step down in safety (going from rear-facing to forward-facing, for example). I believe Britax also makes a few convertible toddler-to-booster seats that also provide a harness up to a higher weight limit, although they are more expensive.
what BeckyW said - your daughter's current seat is most likely a combination harness/booster seat (or a convertible like the Cosco/Safety 1st/Eddie Bauer Alpha Omega) that has 100 lbs. as its *booster* weight limit but a much lower weight limit for the harness. (In addition to the Nautilus and Frontier that BeckyW mentioned, the Cosco Apex65, Evenflo Generations65, and Evenflo Maestro have harness weight limits above 40 lbs.)
Booster readiness is a combination of things - not just age, but also weight (younger, lighter weight children are at greater risk of "submarining" under the lap belt in a collision), and overall maturity (how well do they understand/follow safety rules - will they reliably sit properly buckled without wiggling, fussing with the seat belt, etc. for the entire car ride). Even though a booster might be labeled for kids 4 and up/35-100 lbs., it doesn't necessarily mean that's the most appropriate choice for children on the lower end of the age/weight range.
At your daughter's age, rather than just switching outright to boosters, you might want to try what some folks call "booster training", where you have her take short rides in the booster so she - and you - can assess her readiness, while she still rides in a harnessed seat as her main seat. If she has outgrown the harness of her current seat by height or weight, some good "combination" (harness/booster) seats are the Graco Nautilus and Britax Frontier - both of which function well both as harnessed seats and as boosters and will most likely last your daughter until she's big enough to use the seat belt without a booster. A good less expensive option is the Evenflo Maestro, which harnesses to 50 lbs. and makes a good but short booster that will be outgrown before the child is ready to use the seat belt without a booster - see the review at car seat blog http://carseatblog.com/?p=5923).
Boosters that generally fit younger booster riders well are the Graco high back Turbo Booster (make sure you install the screws in the arm rests - see http://carseatblog.com/?p=634 ) and the Recaro Vivo. The Britax Parkway SG has a nifty "anti submarining clip" .
The Clek boosters and Sunshine Kids Monterey are LATCHable, as is the Britax Frontier in booster mode - however the main function of LATCH in this case is convenience - keeping the booster in place when it's unoccupied.
Clek! They are expensive but the only boosters on the market that have LATCH. Also, if you are interested in a back on the booster it has great side impack protection.
Good luck.
We got the Britax Frontier 85 for our kids. I love it and so do they. It is harness booster til 85 lbs and high back booster til 120 lbs. It is quite expensive but worth it for the side protection and the happiness of my kids.
Good luck in finding the right seat for your little girl!
C., I would really suggest that you talk to a police officer and see what they have seen is the safest. Make sure he's a dad- ha ha .
I knkow that my son has seen some really horrible accidents withchildren involved and he has chosen to keep his child in a full car seat as long as possible.
Good Luck
