Hi Moms!
Does anyone have a book recommendation for children past the toddler years? I have enjoyed the "What to Expect" series but I'm looking for something about developmental stages past the toddler years? Thanks!

You might take a look at "Dr. Mom's Prescription for Preschoolers - Seven Essentials for the Formative Years" by Dr. Marianne Neifert
Book that is fun, and a little uncoventional, are the "Girlfriends Guides", they just make you feel like you are not alone in the craziness. You can get them anywhere, the library is a good place to start. Easy read, and gives hints too.
I've liked a series of books just titled "Your Three Year Old" "Your Four Year Old" etc. Of course I can't find one now for the title - I want to say Ames?
They really explain what is normal to expect and phases that your kids will go through without scaring or shaming you. I especially liked the idea that kids go through periods of "equilibrium" and "dis-equilibrium" like when they can walk but not run yet and get frustrated - made sense to me!
Children: The Challenge. It is the best book ever!
I like the articles on http://www.babycenter.com/ and http://parenting.ivillage.com/
I also use www.webmd.com when I have questions about health issues.
If you want something with more "mommy" than "dr" try the series "The Girlfriend's Guide to..." There are several. The author is a mother of 4 with a GREAT sense of humor who tells you what the doc forgets to mention!
