I wonder if the hair on my 2 year daughter's back and shouldrs will go way on is it there to stay? Has any Mom out there had a two year old with LOTS of hair and she is now older what was the out come. I used Motherlove when I was nursing and wonder if that had something to do with it.

What can I do next?

I also call my child my little monkey. He has dark skin and dark hair and at age two he was a "hairy little beast." He's older now (11) and the hair isn't as prominant. One thing he has done is shaved his unibrow twice so now I try to remember to take my razor out of the shower area. The back/shoulder hair is still baby fine. Ooooh, I'm going to hate to have to take him to get manscaped if it turns into man hair. I know the issues are different with girls, but I think this is a "wait and see."

first off are we talking about peach fuzz, like the kind that premmies have or are we talking about actual body hair ? if the child is hispanic
they may have, though remote, have what is known as the garcia condition, in which case hair grows on the face and shoulders. check with a specialist on hispanic medical conditions. because i am sure they have seen this before and would more than likely be able to help you.

brand new mommie
if however you are not hispanic, then you still need to take the child to the hispanic specialist, because, again they may be able to help you

Depending on what nationality you are our babes can be hairy. I am Italian and my hubby is Dominican/african american. Our little guy was born with dark hair on back and shoulders. Dr said not surprising since or baby was mixed you can still see his Mongolian spot as well. He's seven now and the hair is still there. I had a friend in college who was blond and blue eyed and she had longish soft downy hair on her mid to lower back. She was fine with it. When your daughter is much older as you know she can get rid of all unwanted hair. My ped told me when I was wondering if my son was too hairy he said as long as there is no pre-puberty hair growth, under arms and genital area all is well and the hair usually goes away.

Yes, my now 7 year old lost the most of noticable body hair.
She has grown long hair easily that may also distracted from body hair. We keep bangs on her 'cause of the thick brow hair...
Everyone thinks of her a pretty, no one ever picked on her (yet).
I know the teens years we will have to deal with the omnibrow.... there is always something/ at least it's fixable...

We all have hair on all but 3 places on our body (the bottoms of the feet, the palms of the hands and the actual eye lids) and it's there for a reason, warmth. EVERYWHERE else everyone has hair. For most of us, in most places, it is very fine and usually not noticeable. Certain ethnicities however the hair tends to be coarser and/or darker/more noticable.

Now having said that, it's a possiblity she could just have the darker more noticable hair due to her heritage. Or it's a possiblity that this is just darker/coarser baby hair that should lighten/thin as she gets older. I have a VERY hairy back, although unless I'm sitting just a certain way, wearing a low backed top ... it's not noticable because the hair is as it should be ... pale and fine.

The best way to be sure it's not something else though would be to see her ped or a dermatologist. They could tell you definitely what the deal is and if it's something to worry about.

LOL! My daughter has a furry little back and she's 2. We figured it would be gone by now but it's not. I can tell you it's not from the Motherlove because I don't even know what that is. I guess some girls are just fuzzy. =)
