We've used Fuzzie Buddies and Bayshore Pet Resort (on Manhattan before Gandy). Been pleased with both!

Can anyone recommend a good place to board dogs in south tampa? We have two labs (5&6) who have never been boarded. I don't want to spend $100 a day, but I also don't want them to be locked in a cage for 23.5 hrs a day either. They are like my other kids! Thanks!

We boarded out dogs at Fuzzy Buddies in tampa. They have open areas for the dogs to stay no cages. I think they have a website to look up. We were happy with them

have you considered one of the at home care businesses for the dogs. that is what i used to do and the lady would come by my home 2 times a day, let my dogs out (a lab and a yorkie) let them exercize, and she would leash walk them around the neighborhood, then make sure they were feed and watered. we felt safer as the neighborhood say activitie at our home, the dogs were happier as they were at home. and they were a deterent to thieves, really suprised us they became more protective to the home with us gone, i found my lady thru a refferal from CARE animal hospital in brandon. she and her daughter were great, ist been over 5 years so no im sorry i dont have here phone no anymore, theses businesses are licensed, bonded and most of them are really caring animal lovers. call any vet and shop around. my husband refused to let our dogs be away from home. good luck gmaj

Hi
there is a place called Fuzzie Buddies in Tampa off the crosstown and they are wonderful. You can spend anywhere b/t 23 to 40 dollars a night and extra if you want cuddle time, etc. Check it out. I board my Bam Bam there and he always seems exhausted when he comes home. www.fuzziebuddies.com
Hope this helps, C.
Hi there,
I like Puppy Palace, we board our German Shepard there and he seems to like it. They could share a suite which I think is like $50 a day? Not sure about pricing for 2 dogs. If you are doing boarding during the week, they also have doggy daycare which you can do in addition to the regular times they take them out and that is like $11 a day in addition.
Good luck--the suites have cameras which you can log onto out of town and check on them!

Hi K.,
I have boarded my dogs in two places that I have been happy with. The first was Fuzzie Buddies in Ybor. The second is in South Tampa (south of Gandy) on Tyson Street. The name of it escapes me but they are in the phone book. Good luck!
Hi K.,
Have you also researched a pet sitting service?
C.
Fuzzy Buddies in Ybor is great. You can pick the size of the room you want them in and you can buy extra playtime and also pool time. They even have rooms with webcams if you get the more expensive suites. We have boarded our dog there several times, it is the only place she willingly goes into.
Bayshore Grooming is wonderful! They're on Henderson near Gandy. The owner, Robin, has a daughter who pet sits inexpensively as well, and she's done that for us before. But mostly, we've boarded there and have always been happy.
Good luck!

I agree with the others who have already stated the two best solutions. Fuzzie Buddies is not quite in South Tampa, but it is close, just east of Ybor. It is a clean, nice facility with a friendly and caring staff. The only place of its kind where our dog doesn't seem to mind going. An added plus is that they will bathe the dog inexpensively at the end of the stay. We use it whenever our dog cannot stay at home.
Whenever possible, we have someone (usually a neighbor, friend or family) come over and take care of the dog in our home. She is happier, and it is a whole lot less hassle for us than taking the dog for boarding. It costs no more than boarding and we are putting money into the pockets of people we know who can really use it.
A friend of mine loves lucky dog, near university of Tampa... She works Long hours and her dog is always excited to go... Going to try them out soon...
