Blowing Bubbles That ACTUALLY Work!

Okay- very silly question for you all today! What brand of bubbles have you found (tried & true & all that jazz!) that ACTUALLY work??? And by actually work, I mean you can dip the wand in, the bubble solution is still on it when you pull it out, and then you can really blow several bubbles! Do you know what I mean? We currently have a bubble bottle that does none of this- we're lucky if there's still any solution to blow on and even then only ONE bubble comes out. I mean, come on. What fun is that? (and yes, I know- if this is my biggest problem I have nothing to complain about- haha- I get that!)

So, please tell me, what works and where can I find it? Thanks!

OH- and I'm NOT getting that crayola colored bubble stuff- No way- so please don't even go there. Thank you.

:) A.

Gymboree bubbles are the best! Get their solution and their bubble blower. Totally worth every penny! The key is the glycerin in the solution.

I remember long ago getting some recipes for homemade bubble solution.... they were GREAT!

http://bubbleblowers.com/homemade.html

I really don't remember which one we used..... but it seems that one of the recipes said something about being hard on plants...... so either rinse off any grass/bushes the bubbles touch, or use on pavement.

Gymboree for sure. They cost more, but you need a TINY amount and you can blow so many bubbles. Lasts a long time.

If you make homemade bubbles, try using distilled water instead of tap water-works better.

I know this isn't exactly what you are looking for, but the best bubble solution I have found was actually a recipe I made myself. Really it is not difficult! I swear, it took less than 10 minutes and we were blowing bubbles!

If the solution doesn't seem to work out so great at first, add a little more soap or corn syrup/glycerin (which ever you want to use. I like the corn syrup better though.)

If you don't feel like making bubble solution there is also this from Gymboree. http://www.gymboree.com/shop/dept_item.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efo...
It works really well.

I agree Gymboree bubble solution is the best. I have never seen so many bubbles! I think if you also use ordinary dish soap that is highly concentrated it will work just as well. Just mix with one part water.

I just bought my son bubbles this past weekend that work quite well. It's a big container with a wand that has several different sized holes in it. The tag says SMB (Super Miracle Bubbles). The cost was $9.99 but it was 50% off.

Hi A.,

The key to any lasting bubble is one that has glycerin in it. ALSO when you make the easy bubble recipe, make sure to let it sit for 24 hrs. or more for the best bubbles! This website has so many cool science ideas (and a recipe for homemade bubble recipe..... http://www.stevespanglerscience.com/experiment/bouncing-b...

Have fun!

Gymboree bubbles are the best! You can buy a big bottle or a smaller one that also comes with the blower that blows great bubbles! Also, the Little Kid brand no spill bubbles are really good and great for little ones. I found them at Target and they come in a no spill bucket.
