Installing blinds is actually really simple! You might make a trip to Lowes where an expert can guide you through it. If you are able to, it will give you a real sense of accomplishment! All you really need is a basic drill.

I personally don't care for honeycomb blinds; we had them in the house we bought to raise the boys in, and took them all down. They were gross and dusty. Got some faux woodgrain horizontal blinds that are so much prettier,and don't have to be cleaned as often.

Another option is roman shades. After taking down the blinds in the playroom area, which leads into the kitchen, we put up roman shades and have no blinds at all. It's a nice look for that casual space. They were really easy to install.
