I have 2 girls who are going to be 5 and 3. I don't know where to take them for a birthday party. Out by us there isn't much without spending an arm and a leg. McDonald's doesn't do parties by us anymore, the bounce house places want over 100 for a small amount of kids and we don't have many kids for big party. It would be 15 per kid and you need 10 we don't know that many. But there isn't anything I can think of Chucke cheese is out of the ? my daughter is deathly afraid of him. Any suggestions please. Thanks.

What can I do next?

Do any local preschools, churches, or community centers have rooms you can rent? My experience with parties for kids around 5YO is that they'll usually enjoy simple game and craft activities. One year my friend's son's birthday party was supposed to be at a local park but we had pouring rain that weekend so they held the party at their church's social hall and the kids had a blast with what basically looked like free-play time at preschool (they were able to use the church's collection of ride-on toys and such. the other big game was batting around the balloons that were on the floor - maybe one or two popped but for the most part it was a fun activity and of course the balloons can't be thrown very hard so no one gets bonked on the head or knocked over by one), they had one craft activity, pizza and ice cream, and

Other thoughts: any local dance, gymnastics, or martial arts studios or skating rinks that have birthday party packages?

Bowling, although the 3 y/o's will be too young. What about at your house? You can set up stations w/ games and toys.

Are there any other pizza places nearby? I can remember going to Pizza Hut one time with a girl scout troop and we got to make our own pizzas. Call around to other local restaurants and see if they offer children's birthday parties, or at least would allow you to host one there. I also like the idea of a skating rink, I had a roller skating party for my 7th birthday and those are some fond memories.

I would phone the manager at the bounce house. I asked the owner for a discount and frankly he needed the money and gave me a deal. It was the funnest preschool party anyone ever went to. I also got a break on the pizzas, but they delivered them at 5(before their rush) and they sat around for an hour before we ate.

We are having my daughter's birthday party in our apartment complex's clubhouse. Like someone else mentioned, see if you can just find a place to rent. For her 2nd birthday party we rented a meeting room from our local park.

Then pick your own decorations & activities to have there :)
