Hi Moms:

Need some help. We are getting ready to have a bday party for my almost 3 yr old grandson. Having a dilema as to where to have it. I need somewhere in the Pasadena, San Gabriel CA area. I am in the process of renovating my home, so that is out of the question. My daughter and grandson live with me. We have tried places like Chucky Cheese but they will only a alot us 2 hours of time and wont allow up to book extra time, so I need somewhere other than a park that would allow us to book more then 2 hours.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. If a park is suggested, what parks are recommended? Thank you

What can I do next?

Thank you all that chimed in and sent your ideas. We did finally settle on doing it at the Park. Some of the park ideas were great but when we called them they were already booked. Luckily we found space at Ahlmansor Park by the lake, so that should work for us. We are hoping the weather stays good so that the party will be a success. Thank you all again.!

Hello, I also live in the area. My husband has had several recommendations to take our son to kid zone in pasadena. We have heard very good things. I found they also do birthday parties. I found this link. Hope it helps. http://mobile.associatedcontent.com/article/52226/childre...

Hi, if you do decided to use Chuck E. Cheese after the 2 hours you an always move the party over to the non-reserved tables. Chuck E. Cheese doesn't have a problem with this they actually suggest it. I just had my 1yr old's party there and after the 2 hours we just moved it over to the non-reserved tables and stayed for another 3 hours :)
good luck!

Garfield park in South Pasadena is great, although very popular. There are picnic shelters that you can reserve or you can just go and get an area with a regular picnic table. Gymnastikids does allow extra time, not sure how much. Good luck.

We've had my daughter's party at Singer Park in Pasadena for the past two years. It is a smaller neighborhood park and is usually not very crowded. There is a very nice playground and lots of open grass. It doesn't have basketball courts or tennis or baseball, so it is quiet and you don't have to compete with a lot of teenagers or adults. Its been great for us. Best of luck!
