I am trying to figure out what to do for my daughter's 2nd birthday. she will be 2 in the middle of october and trying to decide what to do or where to go or any kind of suggestions. i am on a tight budget as well but would love to have some ideas to toss around and try and plan something ahead of time rather than at the last minute. i appreciate any and all ideas.

What can I do next?

We had friends do a party at a local farm last year (in Maryland). The kids got to go on hayrides, get pumpkins, face painting, pet animals, etc...a really fun time! And I think it was a little pricey, but if you save, maybe that would work. I know I have to save a couple of months in advance - or at least prepare for the budget hit of a party!

if your tight on a budget why not have a party at a park. the kids would have fun playing on the play sets and would have plenty of room to run around. you could set balloons and party supplies up at a table. Some parks even have BBQ's where you can barbecue hot dogs and hamburgers.

Middle of October -
1)Maybe there will be a pumpkin patch you can visit. SOme have hayrides and all available. Take her and a couple friends to play around in the pumpkin patch. You could let each pick a baby pumpkin as a favor.
2)My town has fall carnivals at the Catholic Church. Most of the stuff for the little bity ones is free.
3)You could have a "dress up party" since everyone will probably already have thier Haloween costume and and it's great to get more than one use out of it. You could have it at your house and let them watch something like It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown and let the little ones help make rice crispy treats or popcorn balls.

I would do a family party at your house, simple buffet foods, cake, icecream, hopefullyl presents and your Wonderful baby! I happen to like helium balloons for parties too. just play it very safe so she doesn't choke or suffocate on the balloon.

How much do you really want to do? I know many people who feel they must have a full-blown party for every birthday, inviting playgroup friends and neighbors and so on. However--she's just turning 2, right? She doesn't really have any friends of her own at this stage. I know lots of other people who just had small family get-togethers, or maybe took a few playgroup pals to the park and had cupcakes, until the child is in kindergarten. I'm not trying to judge either of these situations, but I think especially if you're on a budget, you can get away with not doing much. She will enjoy anything that puts her at the center of attention!
