I am seeking advice for a creative birthday party idea for my little girl who is turning 8 next month. We live in Katy, and I know there is a lot of great places out here to have a birthday party, but they are all way too much for our budget. I would love to have a party at our home and keep it simple, but we have a very small house & I know she really wants to invite all of her classmates (which has been the trend so far this year with her class). I thought about having a party at the park, but I know with Houston weather that can be risky. Does anyone have any other ideas? I would really love to stay under $75 if possible. Thanks so much for your help!

CiCi's Pizza is now offering kids 11&under $.99 buffet. You can make cake and treat bags and give ea. child maybe .50-$1.00 for the game/arcade room. Check w/CiCi's to see if they give tokens for the machines and what kind of deals they may have for b'day party.

You can rent the pavillion at Cullen park for 25 or you can use mary Jo Peckum park...they have a great playground!!! Homeade cake, candy, let the kids make their hats out of contruction paper and markers-I bet you can find some cheap face paint to do face art- hot dogs on the grill and capri suns... kids just wanna play. Have fun!

You can kidnap the girls for breakfast and do it at home or at McDonald's in their pajamas.
When my daughter was 12, we did a backwards party - the invitations were printed upside down and backwards (that took me forever to translate), the cake wording was backwards, the balloon hung from the ceiling by streamers, we had cake before dinner, the invitees wore their clothes backwards, etc. It was cheap but with a twist.

My 8 y.o. & his friends love to play kick ball at recess. He wanted a kick ball party but he has a June birthday so I usually do an indoor place or pool for just a few. While some are playing (kickball, equipment, or ???) have a small table set up w/crafts to make & take. Small wooden objects to paint pen or marker (such as their first name initial or holiday item) might keep 'em occupied for a few minutes and be their party favor, too. Also, you could have a large photo mat & have the kids write their names on it. Later, that would be the mat for a pic of your dtr at the party w/her friends
