The Kiddie Park is right there and the kids seem to love it. There are the bounce house places as well. Jump and Bounc is over on Nacaogdoches. Look at sakidsdirectory.com, they have a list of party place ideas. Good Luck!
My son's birthday is in September. I want to keep his party easy this year, stress free. We have space at our house inside, not much outside. Last year, we did a several activities in and around the house. It was great, but exhausting. So, looking for 5-10 kids and go somewhere or have something simple at home. We're in Alamo Heights area. I also wonder if it is time to start having just best friend(s) to dinner and forget the party.

There is a great place I had my daughter party and it was so stress free and the kids loved it. There is a fantastic and kid-friendly place with great food called MOMAKS at 13838 Jones Maltsberger Rd.. They have a nice outside deck and a huge back area with pick nick tables under the trees, a play-scape and a huge astro-turf ball area. On Fridays and Saturdays they have live music, but it is seasonal.
They are famous for their "Bucket of Burgers" which made the party very reasonably priced. The kids had so much fun and I did not have to worry about entertaining them.
In fact, we were invited to 3 more MOMAK parties from my daughters friends because the mom's loved it so much too!
Check out their website at http://www.momaks.com/.
Good Luck!
I suggest Lazer Quest, they have a party room, not sure if they have pizza there, or there is a place next door to purchase, (my husband took my son and 7 friends), then they came home for cake and ice cream (outside), before their parents picked them up. Minimal clean up, son had a blast.
Have you thought about an indoor play place? A couple that I've heard of are: Pump It Up, Dynamoze, Inflatable Wonderland, Funtastic, Kids World, Ice and Golf Center, just to name a few. They offer packages for small parties, and you don't have to worry about entertaining them.
Good luck, and let us know how it goes.
My son had a great idea for his 8th birthday, he wanted to invite just his best friends to a movie and a put put/video game type place. We spent almost as much money as we would have on a party, but he had a better time. He loved the time that he got to spend with his friends and we got to enjoy and take part in the fun as well.

Last year, my nine year old son invited six of his friends to spend the night. We took them to dinner (at an inexpensive restaurant of his choice, I think it was Alamo Cafe) and then took them all to the movies. They were full at that point so popcorn and drinks were not an issue. My husband and I sat a few rows back so they could be "big kids" but still close enough to correct them if they got out of line.
After the movie, we went back to the house and they played around until midnight, we purchased another Pay-Per-View movie and just had it playing on the TV starting around 10pm so that they would settle down for the night.
The next morning was homemade breakfast tacos and most went home by 10am. Overall, we spent less than we would have if we had taken them to a party-place and they still had a great time.
Have fun with his birthday.....
Incredible Pizza on Tuesday's night it' an unlimted price to ride some of the rides and watch a movie. Buffet salads, pizza's and deserts. Call and check it out!
I have a september baby and at that age he really enjoyed bowling parties. The place we used to go to had a patio outside where we would have cake and open gifts. Good luck!
You can have a party at the zoo. They have info on their website. I don't know a lot about what 10 year old boys like, but my family has always loved the zoo at any age. Good luck!
