So What Happened?

I wanted to thank everyone for the great ideas! I ended up booking a laser tag bday place that my son seems happy with. Food, drinks, tokens etc are all included. All i have to do is show up with the cake (they have ice cream there as well) and have fun with the kids!! :-)

If you don't want to have it at a park and want something with a little more structure I would try the zoo. If you are in the sacramento area you could also try fairytale town. They have a King Arthur package that is like 9 dollars a person and I think it includes party favors, a bannor with his name on it and the cake. Some packages even include the meal for the kids. Then they also get to run all over the place.

I have a found a cheap place for parties at the local park. The kids can run and play and you only have to bring food. Thats what i did for both my kids birthdays this year.

I hosted a MAGIC party for my 6 year old and her friends. I learned magic tricks and then taught the kids how to do the magic tricks themselves. The party bags had all the magic items to go home and do the tricks for their family. It was a big hit especially with the boys to learn "how" to perform their own tricks. There is a great magic shop in Carmichael (on Fair Oaks Blvd.) and they helped me with ALL the items and they taught me how to do the tricks as well.

My son turned 6 in May and we have a really big family usually have a big party with all relatives. This year he wanted to invite his friends to Chuck E. Cheese, but they are kind of expensive and we are on a budget right now cause I am home with the baby. So I told him he could invite 3 friends and we would take them to Chuck E. Cheese. We didn't book a party,we went in as a walk in party so we didn't have to pay $12.99/child. We just got a package deal for pizza, sodas and tokens for like $30 or $40. I also heard of a place in Galt called Someplace Fun and they have party packages or it's like $6/child and you don't need to feed the arcade games tokens or quarters and they have jumphouses and stuff. Hope this is helpful!
