Hi. Try the Stockbridge Dive Shop on North Henry in Stockbridge. Tve have a heated indoor pool. Lifeguard included! Good Luck!
Hi, I'm looking for a place to have my, soon to be 8 year old, daughter's Birthday party. I would like to find something other than the Jump parties we've been going to over the last few years. Any ideas?
Thanks for all the great info, I have several options for her now. I'm sure she will want to invite boys and girls so maybe we'll go to the bowling ally or dive shop.
It's great to know there's an Ice skating rink also. It's a bit far for us and guest to go, but I would love to take the family. Thanks!

Check out local gyms that do gymnastic classes, one here is Gym sports or Gym south, or karate schools , Snip-its (a child haircutting place) does Glamour parties, Build-bear workshops, bowling alley, skating, of course; We also have a place that does tea parties for girls that age; If you are in Fayette county there is also a place for pottery painting.
Hi L.,
My girl's personal favorite is an afternoon at the ice skating rink. There's one in Duluth and one in Kennesaw. I know it's a distance for you but my girls would ride for hours to get to skate. Check it out at www.iceforum.com.
Good luck!

One of my son's favority parties was when he was 10. We rented an indoor swimming pool for a couple of hours. Since his birthday is NOT during typical swimming weather and we don't live in Florida, the kids were all excited to get to swim before summer.
We did it at our local dive shop (my husband and I are SCUBA certified and his birthday present was actually to get certified as well so it kind of went hand-in-hand) but it was so fun that I recommended something similar to a friend. She had her son's party at a local hotel closer to home. Typically hotel guests have to be out by noon and new ones don't check in until 3pm so no guests are using the pool during that time. The rental fee was $100 and since she could just bring the pizza, drinks and cake, it was pretty easy and not real expensive (i.e. it didn't cost an extra $10 for each kid).
An alternative is if you can't find a hotel that will just rent the pool is to have a 'slumber party' at the hotel with your daughter's closest 2-3 friends or if one of the other moms is willing to stay, you could invite 6 and get adjoining rooms.
My 7-year old has received at 4 invitations to http://www.maxx-fun.com/. We've not been able to attend any of them so I don't know first hand.
Believe it or not, it works. Have her to sit down with you and tell you what she want to do and who she want to invite? Be sure it is nothing like Disney World unless you can afford it. I allowed my now 7 year old, who turned 7 on New Years Day, to make her decision and all she wanted was 10 girls from her class and church to have a slumber party. I baked a .79 cake, her choice, made taco salad and tacos, hot dogs, ice cream and some fun prizes for the girls. It was great and she loved it because I allowed her to tell me what made her feel good for her 7th B/Day.
I don't know where you are located, but here in Newnan, our local YMCA does bday parties. We also have a bowling alley, build a bear workshop (peachtree city), and gymnastics center for bday parties. Those are all fun places. Hope that helps.

Hey L.,
I'm also in F'ville. Is she going to have boys & girls? Or is the guest list more girls? If there aren't any boys who would be sad to miss out on the celebration, what about having a tea party? If you have a nice yard (or even have it at a park) you could do it up really nicely for next to nothing. I have hosted a few tea parties for girls from 4-15. It's really fun. You can make little finger sandwiches & tea cakes. If the girls don't want tea, serve pink lemonade. For an activity, they can bring a plain hat to decorate. Have silk flowers, feathers, & other embellishments for them to fancy up their hats with. All of those things you can get at the Dollar Tree (in the Pavilion). Hope that helps. Good luck!
