Well the "new" Strawberry Shortcake is all about Berry Bitty City so you could play off of that. I can't keep straight what each girl does, but one of them has a dance studio so you could do a Plum Pudding (or whoever) dance contest. Orange (maybe?) owns a boutique so you could have a bracelet or necklace making station, Strawberry owns a cafe so you could do a cookie or cupcake decorating station. You could also get a couple of the books and read them one or two of the books before you begin to set the stage.
For food, I'd make it all like it came from Strawberry's cafe, so have lots of strawberry stuff! If you can find a strawberry shaped cookie cutter you can make Strawberry shaped grilled cheese. I just cut them out before hand (Peppridge Farm bread works great), fill with cheese, butter each side and place on a greased cookie sheet. Then when it's time to eat pop them in the oven for a few minutes to melt and they are perfect. You could fruit kabobs with strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, etc. on a skewer. An easy fruit dip is equal parts marshmallow fluff and cream cheese. You could also do mini quiches, small bowls or cups of soup (which you could have in the crock pot and adults would probably love this), chips or pretzels, rolls, crackers, etc....basic cafe food.
