Hello to all moms!!! I am in desperate need of a birthday party location in Fort Worth at the end of January. My daughter is turning 2 and I really dont want to do Chuckee Cheese or a jump party. Ideally, a BBQ would work, but its January in Texas. I want it to be cost effective. I will take any options that you wonderful moms have. Thank you so much in advance!!!!

What can I do next?

I had a bday party for my daughter at YMCA in Arlington. It was real easy and cheap. You pay more if your not a member but if you know anyone that is a member there, they can rent the space for you over the phone. They don't have to be there in person. I want to say it was like $120 for up to 40 kids. They swim(heated pool) for about 1 hr and 15 mins. They you go to a party room where u can serve cake/food etc. They have tables and chairs provided. There is a small kitchen w/sink and fridge for serving. The YMCA doesn't have near as good of a set up for parties as the one in Arlington.

We went to the most fun 2yo party. It was an art party. I honestly don't know how cost effective it is, but the kids (and parents) had a blast. I can't remember the name of the place, but it is near 7th and university and there is a Tommy Burger in a shopping center across the street. I can get the details on location if you want to call them. Send me a direct message and I am happy to swing by on my way to the gym:)
Even if you re-created at home, how fun!

If I may...and not to be disrespectful...let me please remind you that your child is "2". Not 12 or 22...and will not even remember she had a birthday.

Have something intimate at home with family. Have a pot luck...have a cake...have party favors. I'm just saying that with this economy and the fact that your child is so young...take advantage of it and go small.

FYI...my daughter will be 17 on the 27th of January. We didn't have a "kids" party for her til she was 5. The rest of the time with us and the grandparents and a few friends we had local...and she still came out ok with little scaring...

Happy Birthday to your wee one.

For my son's 4th birthday in December, we did a "snowman" party at our house. Candi from SNo-to-go came out and let the kids make snowmen, have a snowball fight and eat snowcones. I got tons of compliments and the kids had a blast. Plus the whole thing was still cheaper than the Little Gym party we had the year before. Look at

We have done the YMCA party and had a blast. Also check with your local community center as it maybe (depending on where you live) a cheap place to rent and they normally have a kitchen.

As for the lady who responded about your wish to give your child a birthay party - don't listen to her. My daughter remembers her 2nd birthday. It was a blues clues party where she had a big red chair, a mailbox, and they had clues to find. Have a fun party and as long as the kids have fun who cares....
