My daughter will be one in April and while I know that any kind of party for her will be forgotten on her part, my husband and I have large families and extended families, friends, etc. (I had over 50 people at my baby shower) and I don't want to leave anyone out, we have alot of very special people in our lives. Our house is tiny and won't accomodate a large amount of people, so I thought some of you mommies might have an idea on where to host a party for 30-40 people that is relatively inexpensive. Maybe a room at a restaraunt or something, I am really at a loss.... I had thought about at a park near our home, but you never know what the weather is going to be like at the beginning of April... Oh and we live in the South Arlington area.

Any advice would be great, I really appreciate all of your suggestions!!

Stovall Park on Sublett Rd has a great park! I have actually done three 1st birthday parties there this last summer! It has a nice big pavillion and a park, plus other amenities. It is a really great park.

We are a great treat to have out at a family party. Very affordable and something that is not expected and a nice treat that everyone loves! www.CandiSno.com April should be pretty warm, but you can always book last minute to wait and see what the weather does.

GL!

You can reserve a room at Spring Creek BBQ in Mansfield. I think everyone just has to eat from there, but it wouldn't cost you anything, I don't think.

You can also rent the Country Critters Farm in Mansfield. I have no ideal how much it would cost.

You can also rent a room at either Mansfield Rec Centers or Arlington Rec Centers for fairly cheap.

L.,
I had my sons first birthday party at Lockheed Martin Recreation Center off of Bryant Irvin Road in July 2007 and did both of my sons party there last year too. I love it because you get the pavillan from 9-9p.m, free parking, playground and if you choose to use of the pool area, mini golf area and the little amusement park rides that cost a little more but it is worth it. The big pavillian hold up to 100 plus people with 2 Big BarBQ grills. You could also rent bounce houses and set them up there too. My kids enjoy it!!! Just look on lockheedmartin.com for more details.

You might call about the Fort Worth Zoo. They have covered pavillions and can cover with a tent, but I don't know the cost. Just a thought. My company has had several partys there in the past AND they have all been real nice. Also, they will bring small animals to pet to the party if you like.

while i'm not a fan of big kid bday parties (i find they are more for the parents than the kid), i will second LMRA. we had our wedding reception in the ranch house. it held 70 max, but we had only 40 there. great location!
