Not so creative but practical - I would just get savings bonds and a nice board book for each of them. I've got four kids (not multiples though) and fresh books were always a welcome addition.
Ok, moms of multiples, what a good gift idea for boy/girl twins turning ONE? These are friends of us and they do have 4 kids under the age of 4, so already have everything...a million toys, etc.... Any creative ideas?

Hi, One year olds don't really know or care about birthdays. Like the other responders, I agree that if you give the parents something they can use for the kids, that would be more appreciated. When is the birthday? If there's still some time, I would offer my services. I make print keepsakes and everyone who's received one has loved it. The parents appreciate it and the children will grow up to enjoy and appreciate it too.
You can visit my page http://www.facebook.com/markthatdate to check out the samples. The contact information is on there too. If you like what you see, do consider 'liking' my page. Would be much appreciated as I'm trying to get the word out. Thanks!!
I have boy/girl twins. One is a tough age for toys. Everything still goes in their mouth. I would go w/practical also. Gift Certificate to Babies R Us was always great. Can be used for clothes, toys, diapers, anything...Bath toy baskets are always fun too since the toys can get pretty nasty after a while and moms can always use bath wash/wash cloths.
I would go with a ride on toy. Kids are very territorial with them so I'm sure they would like one of their own to ride.My twins loved theirs :)
To be honest, I wasn't looking for anything creative when my twins turned one. I wanted practical gifts. They were our first, so we didn't have toys, but I'm guessing they could use clothes. Even if they have hand-me-downs, new clothes are always a good gift.
family portrait? Photo frames for the kids? The kids don't really need anything but, 4 under 4? Those parents probably need a night out!
I like the book and the giftcard ideas. Where I live there is a hands-on museum for young children as well as an indoor playground. Both offer either annual membership or discounted rates when your purchase "X" number of admission tickets in advance. Something like that could give them a chance for an inexpensive, kid-friendly, family outting.
Depends on how much money you want to spend & how close you are to this person. With four kids under four tickets to the circus for the family would be nice. What about a gift certificate to someplace fun like Chuck E. Cheese? How about books or a certificate to the bookstore?
On 1st birthdays the kids have no idea about gifts being for them and they will get so many they won't notice if you give something to the mom.
You can offer to babysit the twins & give them a fun afternoon while the mom reconnects with her other kids. Good luck.
Check out the I See Me books. you can ustomize with the child's name (First and last or first and middle) There is a fairy one for the girls and an animal one for boys. Both have beautiful drawings and run about $35.00 each. I think the website is www.iseeme.com. I give these often for new babies, christenings and first birthdays and they are always well received
