I think I might actually have bipolar issues.

Can any of you tell me the best medication to use for this? I am hopeful I can just take one thing as opposed to the entire pharmacy.

Any advice?

Thanks,

E.

Every person responds to different medications differently. I can get many horrible side effects from medication XX and it cannot work for me and you do fine on medication XX with few side effects. Only a psychiatrist can help find the right medication for you.

Bipolar medications can ONLY be assessed and prescribed by an appropriate Dr.

AKA, not us.

Find a psychiatrist. He's just a doctor who specializes in the mind. Like a cancer specialist knows the medicines to fight cancer, a psychiatrist knows the meds you need.

You could look all over the web and try to understand things but till you see a doctor, you stll don't know if you have it or what meds you need.

It's not a death sentence, it's the begining of healing, for you and your family. Keep going till you find the help you need.
Look for NIMH website, but information only goes so far. You need a professional.

There are different types of bipolar now. You need to see a proper doctor for a medical evaluation and begin therapy. It's important to do therapy along with taking the meds. There are many different kinds of meds out there for this, we can't give you advice on this, you need to see a doctor.

You can't self-medicate for this one. What you need to do instead is pick up the phone and make an appointment with a psychiatrist. He/she will listen to all your symptoms and your whole medical history, and then make a medically informed recommendation. Bipolar IS treatable, but only through consultation with a medical professional.

I have 2 friends that have been diagnosed with Bi-Polar disorder. One takes an MOAI drug and the other takes Lithium. The one on the MAOI is always frantically worried about everything she puts in her mouth. There are so many dreadful interactions to worry about. Even cheese can make her sick. She had a severe headache one time and her friend gave her a OTC pain med. She was on the highway coming through Kansas and they had to stop at an ER just after they crossed the Oklahoma state line. She was put in the hospital.

MAOI drugs are stressful and require a dedicated person to manage their diet and all possible meds. They work wonderfully on the bipolar illness though. The side effects can easily outweigh the illness if it is not manageable with another type of medication.

The one that takes the Lithium has to go to the hospital all the time to get blood drawn for her levels. She has to make herself drink more water and she can't eat much salt. She has dietary issues but not as severe as the other med.

When they are on their meds they are good to go. When they get off their meds they have the issues again. Sad as it is, a medical health diagnosis isn't usually fixable. It's manageable with meds almost all the time though.

I really don't think you should self-diagnose. Seeing a doctor to make sure is always a good idea.

That being said our company makes all natural products. One of which has proved helpful with stress and ADHD. It might help with your symptoms. It is called Confianza. Check it out at http://healthygreensfromlaure.myitworks.com/shop/product/304
