Hi
I am wondering if anyone else has been told they have bile in there stomach and if you ever found the cause of it. I have been haveing a pain in my right side for about four months now and they put a scope down my throat and found bile in my stomach. the dr does not know why it's there and is sending me to a specialist but I can't get in for another month and just wanting some more information. I have had my gallbladder out. Thank you for your advice

What can I do next?

Hi, I also had a pain in my right side for along time and the first thing my dr. said without any testing was kidney stones. He was right on. Did your Dr. do any x-rays beside the scope down your throat? I don't know anything about Bile. Try useing the Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN. website. They have excellent information on all medical issues.
Good Luck. It also doesn't hurt to get a second opinion, I have learned to reseach and ask questions.

I actually worked with someone who had this, about 15 yrs ago. In her case, from what I remember, the valve between her stomach and bile duct was too narrow. She had to have it stretched out, so that the bile could dump out. SHe was immediately better, no other problems. But she had to go to a lot of Dr's before they figured this out. SHe as fine after she saw the GI specialist.

I suffered similar test results. You can always take your health into your own hands and eliminate all but "pure" foods from your diet. Difficult to be sure, but I promise you will feel better. If you have already lost your gallbladder I am sure you know NOT to eat obvious fat such as fried foods, chips, fries, etc. as you can no longer properly digest these fats. Also you should refrain from High Fructose Corn Syrup, Dairy, Coffee, Soda Pop, etc these all contain substances you can no longer deal with properly (main different types of sugar). I know this is a hard thing as I am on this diet myself, - I can tell you that when you follow the diet it is smooth sailing ....

Do you have any other symptoms, such as loose bowels, joint aches, or general fatigue? When you said right side pain, I immediately thought of Crohn's disease. This maybe something to mention to the specialist that you will see. Mine developed with severe pain on my lower right side that was similar to appendicitis. It can take quite a while to find, but a colonoscopy is the quickest way. Best of luck to you and I hope you are feeling better soon.

My sister had a lot of stomach/side pain for some time and over time one week it was so bad that she was throwing up bile. Turns out her gull bladder needed to be taken out. Have they done any tests for your gull bladder? Might be worth checking into. Good luck and I wish you the best.
