Both my kids were 18 months when we put them in big kid beds because, they were doing front flips off the side of the crib and landing on the floor we put them in toddler beds and put a high gate in front of thier bedroom doors so when they got out of thier bed thier bedroom served as kindove a big crib. Its worked great for us and we had no problems with them staying in bed after a couple of long nights.

Not until she gets out. Don't try and rush her out of it because once she is out, she can do as she pleases... :)

I would keep her in there for as long as she is happy. If she learns to climb out early, they make tents that go over the top and keep baby safe.

KEEP her in her crib.

My son, my active son, was in his crib until he was even 3 years old. He LOVED his crib and slept REAL well in it.

Your daughter is only 10 months old.

I personally recommend keeping a child in the crib as long as possible (in fact, they make a 'tent' cover that you can keep them from climbing out and hurting themselves that I recommend).... like til 3 yrs old!. The reason .... my son is 7 and we converted him to a toddler bed at 2 yrs old ---- and he has NEVER slept in his own bed, all night long, by himself since! After you take them out of the crib, they then have the ability to get up/ out/ move around all on their own, whenever they want. And you will end up sleeping less too -- putting them back in their bed --- time after time after time (Or sleeping with them in your bed or theirs because you get too tired and fall asleep!). I recommend keeping them in their crib as long as possible ---- it may just be enough to convince them that their room/ bed is a good place to be when they are old enough to reason with!

Absolutely a crib. That is way too young to even think about a bed---think about how scary it would be if she was to roam around and something wasn't babyproofed! they still have a lot of stages to go through too in regards to sleeping, so it's best to keep them well protected until you notice they are ready. Sorry, I just re read your question and it doesn't sound like you are wanting a bed just yet! Ahh, Probably around 2, 2.5 when you know they will stay put and not get out!

No way. She'll be walking and running right out of it-in the middle of the night! Keep in the crib as long as you can. They actually prefer the coziness of the crib anyhow.

We switched ours at 12 months.
She never roamed, and still at 2 doesn't roam in the middle of the night.
BUT....ours never liked the crib, and our only options were our bed or her own bed.
She loved her bed the minute we got it for her.
I would do it again in a heartbeat.
I say you do what feels comfortable for you! =)

We converted our daughter's crib into a day bed and lowered all the way to the floor when she was about 16 months I think, she slept in that only maybe a month then she took to sleeping on the floor for a couple of months (her choice) I think she liked the room she had to get comfortable on the floor. Shortly after that we got her a queen size bed and she LOVED it, slept great and never got up at night to walk around, but her room was proofed just in case. We also put a child proof handle on the door since her room is upstairs and even though we have a gate at the top of the stairs just wanted to be extra safe; she is 3 now and I still have that on her door at night :-) I don't feel it necessary to keep them in a crib just because it's easier, some kids are just not comfortable in a crib, I could not have imagined our daughter staying in one till three!

agreed on the until she climbs out ... really do you want to deal with chasing her around in the middle of the night if she is too young to understand the point? Plus you will be stressing while trying to sleep every night every sound you hear you think is her walking around.

Our daughter was a monkey, she could flip herself out of the crib before 12 months. but we kept her in there till her first bday.. She actually had a queen bed and loved it.

Once she can climb out then she can't stay in her crib anymore. Otherwise, around their 3rd bday, when they can understand to stay in their beds. We are getting ready to transition our son who is 2 3/4 because I suspect he can climb out if he really wants to. We transitioned him from a pack n play to a train-shaped tent when we travel because of his size, and we tried to continue using it at home for a few nights so we could start to transition him at home after Christmas, and he asked for his crib back. We are getting ready to convert the crib to a toddler bed but we're a little worried because if he doesn't want to go to bed, we know he will hop right out. That's why the later the better for some kids.

My daughter was sleeping in a real bed when she was a year old or somewhere in there. she never fell out of the bed. There's no real time to put her in a real bed. Let her "tell" you when she's ready. If she doesn't stay in bed and runs around when you are asleep or she should be asleep then it may not be time to let her out of her crib. But it's your daughter and you can decide when she should be in her other bed.
