Big Bubble Buckets

Does anyone else have this problem? Every spring we buy a new 'big bubble bucket' (The large bucket containers that hold three large wands) because the one from previous years is stuck shut. Clearly some sand or small debris gets into the threading of the containers and I swear it's as if they're super glued shut! My family loves this bubble unit but I hate buying a new one every year just because a small amount of sand gets in and I can't get it open! Are we the only ones to experience this and do you have any tips on getting them open again? Thanks a bunch!

What can I do next?

That happened to me also. I put hot water inside the bubble container and then put it in hot water in my sink for a while. It seemed to 'melt' the gunk so that I could loosen the lid.

I know what you mean. Its actually the bubble mixture that creates a seal so it won't open. Try soaking it in a bucket of HOT water for about 20 mins, Make sure you fill the inside of the bubble container too, then try to twist it open using a wet towel to help your grip.
should work

did you try running the bucket under warm water or soaking it in warm water. after sitting for such a long time, the soap in the bubbles may have caused it to stick. give it a try

Hi N.,

I have not had this problem. At the end of each season I empty the container, thoroughly wash it out, completely air dry, then store. I also make my own bubble soap and not use the commercial stuff. Hope this helps.

I would try what everyone is suggesting about the hot water, but also - I would store it taken apart and also clean it a few times throughout the year. I actually couldnt' stand that bubbly bucket as it gets so messy! I like the smaller tumblers better.

They maybe getting rusty if it is a metal cover. Try wiping the cap and top before closing it. as for getting it off use a wrench or pliers, is my suggestion. If that does not work mabey puncture it and put in it in a container that will not get stuck closed. Good luck,
