Okay so I am 8 weeks pregnant with baby #2. I heard somewhere before that apparently its not the safest to receive oral sex while pregnant for fear that air gets 'blown' up there. Not sure what the reason or issue is with it but thats what I have heard. Anyway my question isnt really about oral sex but more a side question to this air issue. Im sure that any female that is sexually active has had this happen before. Where you are in a position during sex that unannounced to you is pushing or forcing air up there and either embarassinly during the deed or right after on the pee pot (which is what happened to me) all that air comes out. Am I crazy to think that this could cause the same issues that they are talking about when they say that its dangerous during oral sex? I never remember this happening during sex with my first pregnancy but today when it happened all I could think about was this. Tell me Im totally crazy and that I dont have anything to worry about because now I am worried that I could have unknowingly done something that could cause harm

Edited - I just wanted to add that I wasnt receiving oral sex when this happened. It was just a position that we or I was in that caused air to go up there
@H.B LOL I know its called a queef I was just trying to be as descreet as possible but thank you for the giggles =)

What can I do next?

What you are referring to is "blowing up into the vagina". You don't want to blow up there---it can cause a deadly air bubble.

HUH? Unless your husband is physically BLOWING air up there, i wouldn't' worry about it. The "queef" is one of the most embarrassing noises i've ever heard and i HATE when it happens. But that just means, the deed is being done the right way....LOL Sex during pregnancy is the BEST! you can skip all the extra stuff and get straight to business because you're already ready....lol

I think I read this in one of those books that my OB gave me. It seems to me like sometimes things are a little overboard. If that was the case then any sex causes a transfer of air, right? Sex is probably one of the best things for a pregnancy. I just don't see how this is supposed to happen.

All I have heard on oral sex during pregnancy is because obviously the human mouth is very dirty and has several germs so I think they are more worried about infections in the vaginal area and not the air. I wouldn't make it an every night thing, but I would say the air isn't hurting anything. Remember the worst you can do is worry and stress yourself out about it!!!! Just make sure that after you "do the deed" to wash very throughly down in your woman parts. That may help avoid the transfer of germs and an infections.

But to be safe, you may want to speak with your OBGYN's office. I know it's going to be embarrassing, but better safe than sorry.

You can have oral sex during pregnancy...CONGRATS!!

however, you NEVER want anyone to blow air INTO your vagina - it CAN cause a RARE air embolism...
