can someone explain this to me? my (estranged) father (who i just recently allowed to add me as a friend on fb - huge step) has sent me about 5 requests using this app. honestly i don't want any more contact than him being able to see my fb page. but i have also ignored this request so many times, and i'm getting a little sick of seeing it. i'm about to look into blocking requests from him (and i already blocked seeing his updates because the man is apparently a fb addict, it's downright obnoxious all the stuff he is constantly posting).

i can't tell anything when i go to the request. can someone tell me what this is? pretty sure it's not going to matter but i'm just curious.
thanks!

What can I do next?

A lot of those 'apps' on facebook are marketing tools in a way. If you read the small print on the bottom it states "you give ____(the app) permission to post as you on facebook"..... uhm NO.
I just read that the other day and have noticed it several times now.

I don't give facebook access to my information like that. It is an application and they use your information.....read the fine print.

You can block the apps. What you do is:
Go to the "invite requests" in the top left corner of your FB screen.
Go to the BOTTOM of list where it says "see an requests"
Click on See All Requests.
Block ALL the applications you do NOT want to receive invites from...mafia wars, Zingo, Frontierville, FamilyTree, Just Between you and me...all of them...

I'm sorry you are in this situation with your dad. I wish I could get my dad on FB!!! :) If you can't handle the contact with your father - then delete him as a friend and block him. Sorry - I know that sounds cruel but all you are doing is creating a stressful situation for yourself.

If you feel you can - send him a message and tell him to stop sending the requests for this application. You don't want spam. If not, then just block the application and be done with it.

I don't know what that particular app is but you can block requests from it specifically. Just hover over the pull down arrow to the right of the post. A "block future posts " should come up.

That doesn't help with your dad but hopefully it helps with facebook! Good luck!

Good question. Sometimes I see that hideous "between you and me" thing on my page and wonder if it's some sort of spam. I don't
know what it is either so I'll be watching your answers. Sorry your dad is being a pain.

You can block each and every photo he is sharing by clicking on the right corner of it until a drop down box appears. You can also block games or other things if he is sending you requests for them too. If you hover your cursor over his name you should get a box that says subscribed. It should have some options on it to choose. Unclick everything except status updates. Then also click the option for most important updates. All the other boxes should be unclicked. This will stop almost all of the posts you are getting.

I don't use apps on Facebook and have them blocked. It's not that he is repeatedly sending the request to you, it's the app itself doing that.

I found the answer on Yahoo answers..
From February 2011:
"Between you and me allows you and your friends to answer questions about each other.
For example, let's say that I was answering, "Between you and me" questions.
What would happen is a random friend would pop up and it would ask random questions such as:
"Do you think friend 1 ever had a crush on you?"
"Do you think that friend 2 is ugly"
"Would you die for friend 3"

Stuff like that."
