Beth Israel or Brigham and Women's for No/low Risk Pregnancy?

Dear moms,

I plan ahead of time and I have two great groups of OBs that practice in each of these two big hospitals ready to go...if I just made up my mind on the hospital. I toured both places and they all seemed great. Although I felt more at ease at BI and they seemed more laid back and lots of nurses nearby. When I toured Brigham, again great, but it seemed really busy, only saw 1 nurse walk by in the hour that I was there. NOT sure what to do. It seems that almost everyone in Boston goes to Brigham and it's VERY tempting to go there considering their #1 in the country for ob/gyn! I don't want to take any risks!
What do you think? Where did you deliver and would you recommend it?
Also, I'd be seeing Dr. Lafornara at Boston obgyn if I go at BI or Dr. Ackerman ifrom Commonwealth obgyn f I go to Brigham and Women's. Any experiences with any of these doctors or practices?

Thank you VERY much in advance!

What can I do next?

I delivered both of my kids at BI and had great experiences with both. Everyone was very knowlegable and helpful. I ended up having to have an emergency C-section with my first and they were great about answering my questions and calming my nerves. I would definately recommend BI. I don't know the doctor, so I can't help you there, but with my first it was the on call doctor that delivered my daughter, not the doctor I was used to seeing, and it still went great. Good luck!

Hi I.,
I delivered all three of my babies at B&W and had no complications with any of them. My labor with my first was really long so I took advantage of the sit-down shower and rocking chair that was available in the labor and delivery room. My next two came too quickly to use any of those things. I found that the staff was very supportive of whatever my wishes were for each delivery for the most part. Each was low risk vaginal delivery and we were happy with each experience we had at B&W. As a matter of fact when my sister was visiting from NC and went into early labor, I insisted that she go to B&W. They took excellent care of my niece and things worked out wonderfully.

I delivered my daughter at BI and had a wonderful experience. The L&D staff was great, and the maternity nurses were fabulous. All the nurses are trained in lactation for at least a week, and it showed! I didn't even need to see the lactation consultant because they were so good. I am pregnant again, and even though I live only 5 minutes from Newton Wellesley, I plan on staying at BI. I highly recommend it. It made my first delivery experience a great memory. I don't know that doctor, so I can't say anything about them.

I delivered at BWH and had a great experience. I wanted a natural childbirth but ended up with an emergency c-section after 36 hrs of labor so I was glad to be in good hands! And my little one was fine! We had great care there and I would totally recommend it but I have New England OB/Gyn docs.

Congrats!
