hey guys!
my bday party's this wknd and we all have kids. there should be approx 10-15 adults, 3 "little" ones (ages 5, 6, 7) and 3 or 4 "older kids" (ages 8, 12, 13).
we're a very laid back group. the kiddos hang out w/us sometimes but mostly play in my sons room, we check on them frequently, and they come get us if they need us. i have a TINY house so i can see everything from my back door in the house. the adults all sit outside & listen to music & hang out under the carport.
ANYWAY....b/c this is more ppl than usual, i'm just trying to think of the best way to entertain everyone, but especially the kids. i thought about a pinata, renting some movies they haven't seen, but that's all i can think of.
and aside from just hanging out together tomorrow night i can't really think of anything else we can DO. i just don't want anybody to be bored or restless. i have a decent sized back yard, but....full of ants and stickers. :(
y'all got any thoughts or are my plans good enough? would you have a fun time at my party? lol :)

What can I do next?

We usually just send the kids down to the rec room to play video games and watch movies, with lots of snacks. The older kids watch the younger kids.

My son has always come to adult parties with us. Sometimes there are other kids, sometimes not. When there are the kids ALWAYS find some way to entertain themselves. They truly do not need planned activities. For the 5,6,7,8 year olds - if there is a room they can build with lego or just play any game, they will be fine. The older kids can either entertain the younger ones (don't make them, but they may choose to on their own) or simply mingle with the adults. It is a valuable skill for tweens/early teens to be able to interact with adults. I would encourage it.
