You could ask him to have a "ring" tattoed, then there is no danger it will interfere with his work. Assuming you and he like that.
I recently got married 5 months ago. My husband works offshore and is constantly getting dirty.
I have been looking at Tungsten rings online to buy him as a temp ring to wear when he is offshore.
Option 1

Option 2

I am leaning more towards picking Option 1.
Does anyone have info about tungsten rings? Do they scratch easily?
Thanks in advance for you help!

Have him check with his supervisor about workplace safety rules. Don't spend any money on a ring until he checks -- you might be wasting your time and cash.I would wager that he is probably prohibited from wearing rings (and possibly prohibited from wearing any other jewelry including a watch) in any dirty offshore job.
Even if he is technically allowed to wear a ring, I would put his safety first and not worry about his wearing one while offshore. If he loses a finger due to a ring being pulled on by equipment, etc., he may lose his ability to do his job. He's just as married without one on and it'll be all the more special when he's home again and wears his ring when with you!
My husband doesn't do physical labor, but if he did, I'd rather he not wear a ring at all.
There are some jobs where men are not allowed nor is it recommended that they wear ANY jewelry. It sounds like O. of them!
Like others mentioned.... There are some jobs that will not allow a ring or any jewelry for safety purposes.
Is he looking for a new wedding ring, are you concerned if he doesn't wear one?
I would err on the side of safety. He can wear a ring at home while he's not working!!

Both of these articles in the links, talks about both metals and about emergency removal.
And about composition and scratch resistance of the metals etc.
You better check if he or employees are even allowed, to wear rings or jewelry in his job offshore.
I used to work with a guy who was a machine maintenance man. He was working one day and his ring got caught and it ripped his whole finger off. Not kidding.
My husband works in landscape architect design. He is building waterfalls, walls, fire pits...He never wears his ring. I asked him not to. I like him with all 10 digits.

The first one is very very cool but with the kind of work he does the 3 diamond version is very...mechanical looking, you know, he works offshore and I bet it's with machines so that theme is awesome!
I understand why you want him to have a ring. Get him the one that goes with him the best and let him know that you understand he can't wear it at work but would he consider having it to wear when he's off the clock.
That's why I'd go with the diamond one, mechanical looking and it's dressier.
Get a nice ring, for him to wear on the weekends and vacations. Do not expect him to wear it at work.
Way to easy to hurt himelself for no reason.
:)
Does he really need to wear a wedding ring while he is at work? My husband is an engineer and in several cases, has removed his ring for safety purposes.
Tungsten is a pretty durable material. If you are concerned about the ring getting dirty, I think option 1 would be the better choice. Otherwise, I would just have him remove his wedding ring before he goes to work.
I am surprised he is even allowed to wear a ring at work (or wants to for that matter). It's a serious injury hazard if it gets snagged on something.
I am also leaning towards getting him whatever you (and he) like, but ask him to take it off when he is working. You don't want him to loose a finger or a limb because of the wedding band.
My hubby is in construction and he does not wear a ring at work, however he does have one and he wears it now and then.
That being said the ones you have picked out are pretty.
Many blessings
M., if your hubby wants to wear a ring, and is allowed to per his job regulations, he should consider getting his work ring "scored". This is a process of cutting into the ring at one spot to make it thinner, so that if it gets snagged, the ring will break apart, as opposed to endangering the finger/hand. Talk to your local jeweler about having this done. T. =-)
I was looking into this a while back and found this answered a lot of questions.
