Hi Moms,

My family and I are going to be relocating to the Tampa area this summer and my husband and I are wondering what suburbs are the best towns to live in regards to the best schools (our kids are 7, 4, and 3) and to family friendly activities. Thank you!

What can I do next?

My friends love Land O' Lakes because her husband works long hours and she and the kids can go all over safely.

Hi mom of three, my husband use to live in the Tampa area. Try looking into the temple terrace area. It is very nice and family friendly! Hope this helpful!

We live in the Brandon, Riverview, Valrico area. We like it here and there are lots of military. There are lots of kids and sport activities. We have parks of all sorts. Fishhawk Ranch is an upsale living area and has lots to offer. Make sure you research schools. Not sure what your looking for, public, private, charter, magnet, etc. I do think moving from TX to FL will be a culture shock to you. I met a family in Orlando from TX and they were shocked a how different the schools and people were.

My friend just left New Tampa area (north of the city) and she loved it. She left because her husband was transferred. Good luck with your move!

Are you looking for N. Tampa or S. Tampa? Surrounding suburbs? N. Tampa- Westchase is a nice area with good schools. S. Tampa- Westshore area, but Westshore is also pricey. If you are looking for surrounding suburbs, Land O Lakes really had a big boom and supposed to be good. Riverview is supposed to be nice, I believe that is south of Tampa. Palm Harbor, Clearwater, Dunedin, St. Petersburg are located outside the city, close to the Gulf. There are good and bad schools everywhere, so I would first choose a couple of areas you like, and then research the schools.
