Hello,

What would you recommand for my toddler? He's had the armbands but I would like to change to a styropor belt. Are they safe enough/ do they keep them aflout with him kicking as well? Or do you have other tips for me?

Thanks in advance!

J.

Puddle Jumper by Stearns. My son used it all last summer (2.5 yo) and loved it. It gave him confidence in the water, even though he was scared of swimming. I used it because I had a baby and couldn't watch him as closely as needed if he didn't have anything. He's now in swimming lessons and doing very well!

Oh goodness! Hands down....the Stearns Puddle Jumper! It is FABULOUS! Here's a link to the Stearns website. It will give you all the info and you can watch a short video as well. You can see how well they work on the little ones in the video. When I was researching them, I actually went on youtube and did a search on Stearns Puddle Jumpers. I wanted to see REAL videos posted by REAL parents. What I saw on all the videos I found was enough to show me that they worked great and were just what we needed for our kids. You should do the same. It's always nice to watch real home videos from real parents out there. =0) Highly recommend them! My kids never complained that they were uncomfortable and they really enjoyed the confidence they gave them in the water. Hope you love them too! =0)

Yes! the armbands with flotation around the chest that clips in the back are awesome and reliable. You don't have to worry about it slipping off.

NOTHING!!!! As long as you are within arms reach, your child will learn faster and more safely without using articial flotation

We had a great inflatable bubble. You snap it around the waist and it kept our kids afloat while they learned to swim. You could let the air out slowly as they get better at keeping themselves afloat. I got it through the Keifer catalogue. They probably have it on line too.

Just found it. It's the inflatable swim buoy. They also had other styrofoam belt things. Here is a link:

they have life jackets approved that are arm rings w/extra thing in front, made to look like frogs and sharks. super cute and super safe. at 2 they may be a tad big depending on weight.

At my daughter's swim school, the toddlers used the flotation swim vests.

Look at it on Amazon.

Floaty suits are the best invention since the wheel. The floats are sewn into the suit, they won't slip or chafe.
