We use Bert's Bees. It is all natural. My son is allergic to regular sunblocks; thank goodness for Bert's!
Does anyone know of a great, natural sunscreen for kids? What are the rules of buying sunscreen (certain ingredients better than others?) I just had a few pre-cancerous moles removed from my body and don't want my boys to have to deal with things like that. Any info will be helpful. Thanks!

M.,
Arbonne offers pure, safe, beneficial products for the entire family & ONE great one is the sun line. (the baby line also has a great suncreen). Botanically based, NO dyes, chemicals or fragrances that typically can be irritants. NO mineral oil or animal byproducts & pediatrician/dermatologisted TESTED..not just recommended. I have a news clip that Fox 4 recently did that discusses the dangers of OTC sunscreens & the FDA is requiring many of them to change there formulations r/t to the cancer causing ingrediants they contain. I would be glad to email it to you & send you a sample of the ABC sunscreen/info on our sun line.

We tried the Arbonne sunscreen last year and it worked wonders! We even vacationed in the Bahamas and spent most weekends at the lake last summer and my son never had any problems at all! I highly recommend it, I am sure you can order it online.
Hi M.!! We use Sunshades. It doesn't have any toxins or chemicals in it - so it's very safe. It's easy to put on (doesn't "stay" on your hands), it's waterproof and works great!! It smells good too!
Let me know if you'd like to try it out!

We tried the California Baby brand recently, and I have no complaints about it.
Hi,
The best place to check for safe sunscreen is at the
Cosmetic Safety Database by Environmental Working Group.
Here is the link that goes to the sunscreen information.

Below is a quote from a natural newsletter that I get. It is a view point that some doctors are still not willing to accept however the more I read about the sun and Vitamin D I believe that it is most likely true. You can access the full article and other information at

"The idea that sunlight exposure causes skin cancer is a persistent medical myth. What we now know is that ultraviolet radiation only promotes sunburns and DNA damage when a person is chronically deficient in antioxidant nutrition. Building up a tan and boosting your intake of antioxidants from berries and superfoods is the best way to prevent sunburn and skin cancer.
• The skin cancer industry is largely bankrolled by sunscreen manufacturers who hope to de-educate people about the healing power of sunlight and scare consumers into buying more sunscreen.
• Most sunscreen products contain cancer-causing chemicals and petroleum derivatives. Using sunscreen has actually been found to increase the risk of skin cancer."
