Best Stroller to Take on a Plane

Hola soy de Venezuela tambien y al igual que tu toda mi familia esta alla! Asi q cuando quieras nos reunimos para darnos apoyo moral....y aunq sea hablar un ratito de ser madres...y vivir lejos de la abuelita...mi telefono es 212-920-79-52 ahora con respecto al coche te recomiendo uno tipo paraguas, el de maclaren es lo maximo pq casi no pesa nada y lo abres y cierras con una mano...es un poco caro $99 pero si piensas viajar mucho vale la pena...si quieres yo tengo una cosa q le pones al coche para el invierno que mantiene a los bebes calientitos, te lo puedo prestar sin problema....tu avisame, Saludos, V..

Combi Flare stroller is great. It's like an umbrella stroller but a lot nicer. The child can lay back and sleep and it does have cup holders and storage. It also folds in 2 with a back strap for carrying. We were at a museum once and the elevator was broken. So I picked up my son and carried him while the stroller was on my back. It is very light weight as well. Good Luck.

You've got to check out the City Mini by Baby Jogger! We've taken ours to Hawaii and San Francisco. Folds up in one step, w/ one hand, and fits through the x-ray machines at security. Big hood over top that protects baby really well from all the elements. My husband and I are constantlly impressed by it - - small enough to take into cafes, etc too!! Have a good trip!

We traveled for the first time when our daughter was 8 months old and we bought the maclaren quest which we gate chequed and used when we were out and about,it was really light and easy to use-transport.The rest of the time I used my Ergo which was a total life saver especially on the airplane...she slept on it almost for the whole 4 hour flight!!!!

We use sit & stroll (as another mom below recommended) for travel as well. I once saw a review of the product, and thought it was very true.."it's not the best carseat, and it's not the best stroller, but it is probably the best combination and the best traveling companion..". The other mom already articulated the benefits of this product very well I think. I don't use it daily, but we love it when we fly, because the stroller goes straight to the plane seat, and once folded, the carseat fits in most airplane seats. You do need some practice to get used to the folding and unfolding (especially when your baby is in there with the extra weight). I usually let my husband do it;-) Once on the plane, ask the flight attendant for a seat belt extention, and you are good to go!

I always took my Peg Perego with me to New York. The wheels moved easily on the pavement and in Central Park. However, you should go over to Babies R Us and try out some smaller strollers that might be more easy to travel with. I found that the strollers with the double wheels in back move the most easily but see what you feel comfortable with.

The good part is that you just take the stroller up to the airplane gate and they have it waiting for you as soon as you get off the plane.

I know you already have 2 endorsements of the Sit'n'Stroll but wanted to add mine. We were in NYC 2 weeks ago and when our 5 year old tired of walking, he jumped in and we carried his 18 month old brother. Our 5 year old tells us all the time that he is sad that it isn't his anymore. We love, love, love it. Get the carrier bag. I use it until we get to the gate and when they call for us to board, I put it in the bag to protect it and gate check it. Then it is waiting when we get off.

I have Peg Perego stroller as well. Although I love it, traveling with it can be hard. I have a Maclaren Quest which I just love! It folds easily with one hand and it is light and durable. It's especially easy to fold and lift when going through airport security. I hope that helps! Safe travels to you and your family.

I lived in NYC for 12 years and took my daughter at 11 months old there. Firstly, strollers are not a good idea in NYC. I put my baby in an Ergo carrier facing me, and that way she was high up and did not get dirty. It also allowed me to negotiate the crowded sidewalks and use the subways and buses with little to no problem. For getting around the airport and your final destination, use a lightweight umbrella stroller that you can check in at the gate or if she is still too small, then use a Snap n' Go stroller frame for your infant carseat.

SIT 'N' STROLL absolutely worth every penny. It is a car seat that turns into a stroller that turns into a flight seat and can be a rear facing seat and a booster seat as well. It is advertised in many airplane magazines. I loved it so much it became my primary car seat. I did use it with a Mighty Tight car seatbelt tightener to make sure that it felt as safe as possible. The best part is when they fall asleep in the car and you can turn it into a stroller and wheel them into your destination without waking them up, or having to sit in the car with a sleeping child. My other favorite was watching other parents struggling with a stroller and a car seat at the airport and knowing that my day was that much easier because of the Sit 'n' Stroll. Many people have stopped me at the airport and asked what it was and how to get one.

You'll especially like it in NYC because you'll have the stroller when walking down the street and when you need to catch a taxi you can easily convert it into a car seat and be on your way.

We loved this stroller/car seat and recommend it to lots of people who love it, especially travelers. Your little one is young enough that you'll get to use it often. I used it until we could not buckle my kids in any more and I pouted when they out grew it.
