My son just turned three in April and has had a private nanny since I went back to work when he was 6 months old. She is wonderful but he is very spoiled and I think it is time for preschool. Does anyone know of a good school that they could recommend in the Palm Harbor area? Thank you so much.
HI, my son attends Precious People off of Tampa Road, they have been amazing, i would say that they are the top preschool inthe area.
It depends on if you are looking for part time or full time. If you want part time I would definitely look at Robin's Nest. It's on Belcher and Nebraska. It's located at the United Methodist Church. We used to live in Palm Harbor the first time we lived here, and it's a great preschool. If we lived closer my girls would be going there, but it's a bit of a drive for us now. If you want more full time you might want to check out New Horizon's Country Day School, also right there. Those are the one's I'm most familar with in that area, though there are several. At this point though, you might be put on a wait list, but you would have to call and ask. Good luck.
I'm not sure that "he is very spoiled" translation "he is very happy" means you should stick him in pre-school - it sounds almost like a punishment...? (Which, as an anti-traditional school advocate, in my opinion, it is).
Anyway, if you feel he would benefit from a pre-school environment, I would find a Montessori school in your area. It would at least make an easier transition for him, and the Montessori method (in my opinion) is on the right track in terms of early education.
Of course my vote is if he's happy and thriving, why would you want to rock that boat?
