I am looking for a small wood desk for our bedroom to put the laptop and a basket for the bills, etc. I have already looked on Craig's List and a few other sites but no luck. Anyone have any ideas of where I can purchase an inexpensive one please?

They have student desks at walmart. I just bought one for my daughters room and it's great. It was only $39.
Try IKEA - I personally have never shopped there but I have heard rave reviews from friends and family. I believe that they have reasonable prices as well. HTH
