I buy my sons shoes at Payless. He wears a wide shoe and stride rite is too expensive so payless is the store for me
Hi moms, where do you think the best priced kids shoes are? Target? I have never been thrilled with the shoes I get from the Childrens Place, but I LOVE the clothes I get there. I love alot of Target clothes. I have 2 girls and need to get them both fall shoes and new raincoats. Ugh. Expenses! I have a great thrift store I go to for clothes and raincoats and stuff but don't want to buy shoes there. So please let me know where you think the nice and affordable young girls shoes are (For sizes 12 and 13). Or maybe online, like amazon mom? Thank you mommies!
Thanks girls! I ended up at Target because it was close, and got what we needed. I am going to try some of these other suggestions too for the next round... :-)

I buy my son's shoes at stride rite outlet. The quality of stride rite, but a little bit cheaper. According the their website they have outlets in Deer Park, NY and New Hyde Park, NY, which I think are not that far from you. If you watch for sales you can get a really good deal. Last weekend they had their shoes buy one get one 1/2 off, so I got my son nice sneakers and nice dress shoes for just under $45. Not quite as cheap as Target can be, but I think the quality is far better.
Well, are you looking for quality or cheap price? Because, IMO, it's better to pay a little more for something that your child will be in all day. You want them to be comfy & supported all day. I either buy DD's shoes at Ross, or Stride Rite. I don't normally do cheap or generic or used for shoes. I wouldn't buy shoes from Children's Place or Old Navy, or stores like that, and I wouldn't buy them at Walmart, etc.
I love 6pm.com and Zappos.com.
Target shoes are good, especially if you are on a budget. They have current styles and are fairly comfortable. Payless is hit or miss - I did end up with 2 pair from there this year. I also get their shoes from Zappos. Each usually gets one more expensive pair from Zappos and a knock around pair from Target.
If you have a Marshalls (like TJMaxx) they carry shoes for great prices.
I took my son to a high end store recently to purchase shoes. He couldn't find anything he liked. Then he said "Can't we just go to that other store...I always find shoes there that I like?!" It took a little while for me to figure out he meant Payless Shoe Source. I then said, "Heck yes we can!! I thought you wanted name brand like your friends so I was splurging to get you something new for Middle School." He then said he didn't care about the brand. Yippeeee! All those years not paying attention to brands and names has paid off. He really doesn't care.
So I took all 3 to Payless Shoe Source and they each picked out 2 pairs of shoes...and it didn't break the bank. Now it is my go to store for shoes.
Good luck and best wishes for finding some inexpensive yet nice shoes!
and...I just love the name of your town...that is awesome!
Target is a good place to get shoes. I get my son shoes from there since it isn't expensive at all. Though if you want them to last for a while I would suggest Kohl's. That's where I got my son's new shoes for school at and I know they will last him for a while.
I would go online to all the different stores (sears, target, walmart, payless, skechers, etc) find a style or brand you like and then look and see who has a good coupon, free ship promo or free ship to store pickup... it takes time to dshop around online but it is worth it when you can snag an awesome deal on shoes! i also am not a fan of children's place shoes for the kiddos, we really like skechers
I stick to the outlets and stick to good shoes that will last the whole year like Stride Rite, Tommy Hilfigure, and Reboks. I figure by the time you pay $20 for a cheap pair of shoes, you can go to the outlets and by good shoes for almost the same amount of money or a little bit more. The Rebok outlets are the best buy, because you buy 2 pairs of shoes and get 1 pair free. I figure if my kid need gym sneakers and dress shoes, I'm buying 2 pair already so the free one can be for play for him. If he doesn't see anything, then I get the free pair of shoes. (I can fit into a boys 5.) You can find stuff. You just have to look around and go when they have deals. Sign up for the outlet nearest you, so you get the email.
payless famous footwear fabco but not good stuff wont last how about sears will last longer
I have gotten pretty good reasonably priced shoes from Kmart, Target, Kohls and Payless. Children's Place shoes are iffy. I have gotten some summer stuff there and some cute rainboots. Also Land's End has good quality if you can catch a good sale (they are at Sears too so you can see some things in person).
Walmart, Payless, Kohls.
I love Target for shoes! I get my girls shoes there a lot. Also, payless, wal-mart I look, but don't always find. Zappos.com is great, but not the cheapest! Lands end (also at Sears) has great stuff. A little more expensive, but guaranteed for life! (and has great sales!) I also love Gymboree. We have an outlet near us, so I can usually find them on sale. I guess I just look all the time!
I do Kohls for my son.... name brands because shoe fit is important, but almost always a sale or a 20% off coupon laying around at home!
I also like www.endless.com. HUGE selection and nice styles with good prices. You'll be amazed at the wider selection!
I get my daughter's shoes from Wal-mart, JC Penny, The Shoe Show, or Payless.
Sears, Target, Kohls and JC Penny always have cute shoes and there is usually a sale. We can't get our kids' shoes there though, we have to shop at Stride Rite due to wide feet. My Mom got my sister's school school shoes at Kohls this year, all 4 pair. She wears a size 2.
