Best Place to Buy Nice Tablecloths?

Somehow I have reached my mid 30s without ever buying a tablecloth (other than cheap plastic ones for kids parties). We are normally very casual, but I'm hosting a bridal shower next month and would like to invest in some nice table coverings.

We have a longer oval table. I don't mind spending more for something that will last longer. Where should I go?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks all! I found a nice tablecloth at Marshall's but couldn't find the right size, so I wound up getting some on sale at Kohl's. Thanks!

I think our church buys them from Sam's, if you have a membership, or a friend does. They look like the kind you would see at a nice restaurant, plain white linen. Then you could put a fabric topper that goes with your theme. If you want to go fancier, then I would also suggest Macy's or Dillard's, TJ Maxx, or Marshall's, for a discounted price.

You can find some nice, decently priced ones at Target. Or you can go to a linen store.

My suggestion is to call a rental company. I have several tablecloths, but but I never use them. I usually rent them because I like to use colored ones that compliment the theme. Rental is around $10. If you're set on purchasing one, Steinmart has some nice ones and a little more reasonable than Dillard's, or other mid-end department stores.

Also try TJ Maxx, HomeGoods,KOHLS! Unless you are buying an heirloom type table cloth I wouldn't spend too much. Small stains, even when washed, have a tendency to show back up when tablecloths are stored for any period of time. also, I have noticed that the perfect colors with my dishes and house are somehow not so perfect as my tastes change.
A decent white one is always good- fun to throw smaller ones over at an angle as toppers. Runners or scarves down the middle of the table can also dress up a plain tablecloth.
If you are buying real napkins get only 100% cotton. Polyester ones do not absorb. I find I can have poly tablecloths, but the napkins really should be functional and poly ones just aren't.
Have fun.

I've gotten them at department stores before. Unfortunately, all the linen stores at our outlet mall have gone out of business...
The other day I saw a huge display at Bed Bath and Beyond. I've also gotten them at Wal-Mart. The ones I've gotten at Wal-Mart have been perfectly fine. My sister got me an off-white one that advertised being stain resistant. I don't remember what brand--I don't have the packaging anymore. It looked like a dept-store one, but she could have gone to a TJ Maxx or something. I was very surprised that it really WAS stain-resistant, which is great when you're serving kids on a tablecloth. If I see more like that, I will buy them. I use them all the time. I hate wiping down tables--I'd rather remove the dishes, gather up everything else and throw it in the wash. ;)

Bed bath and beyond, pottery barn, William Sonoma, jc Penney, Macy's, etc. All have good ones. Good luck!

I agree with TJMaxx and Marshalls. Sometimes Kohl's will have a good sale or good coupons.
