I have no advice regarding one with DHA in it! We just started our 28 month old on Oberweis Skim Milk. I like that it contains no antibiotics or hormones. It is not considered organic though since they will treat the cows with anitibiotics when necessary and that cow is taken out of the group of producers so it does not "taint" the milk. From the sounds of it they do some very strict testing as well and that has helped me to feel more comfortable using it! The biggest advantage is it tastes great coming from a glass bottle! MMMMMmmm! The only bad thing is it is expensive! For myself and my hubby we drink Trader Joes Skim milk and if our daughter runs out we give her some of ours then. Our baby girl gets the best of it all! lol (she has a rare disease and we have to be very careful what we give her) Check out the Oberweis website to read more about their product and even check out the delivery... seems cost effective although it is at the store we shop at so we do not do it.
Our Dr just recommended that we give our daughter no more than 8-12oz per day of SKIM milk. I do give her daily yogurt and sometimes cheese also so she is getting in her dairy but not through milk alone. If I remember correctly though I think he would prefer we do not give any milk at all- but that does not make sense to me but I am old school! Maybe it was juice though?!?!
I also believe the fats and DHA were most important in the first 2 years. Not that 2 is a "magic" number but that is suppose to be when they benefited the most from it! Maybe find a vitamin that she can take. Trader Joes has some good ones- I am out or I would see if they have it in there- that are affordable and taste good without any "bad" things in them. We have to watch dyes and perservatives so TJs was our best bet cost wise!
Good luck finding something that you are comfortable giving her! Blessings to you and yours!
