Hi Moms!
I am currently 7 months pregnant with my 3rd. I am looking to nurse my baby as long as I can, but when I return to work, I will have to use a bottle. I was wondering what name brand other moms suggest that works well when breast feeding.
My last baby had severe reflux and I could only use Dr. Brown. So I am wondering if I should play it safe and just buy the widemouth Dr. Brown or I have also looked at NUK brand that says it's good for breastfeeding....Can anyone offer advise?

I have also used the playtex drops in. I used them for all 3 of my children and had no problems with them!
My 3 year old daughter used Dr. Browns and switched very easily from breast to bottle - so I thought when I had my next baby that it would be just as easy. I stocked up on the BPA free Dr. Browns bottles and he did not like them one bit. He refused to take the bottle and I had to go to his daycare to breastfeed him so he would eat. I found the Nuk bottles at Walmart and bought 3 of them. I liked them because of the wider mouth and the shape of the nipple - worked like a charm! He did GREAT with them and is still using them. He's 8 months old now and they still work great! Your baby will tell you what they like the best. My recommendation is don't stock up on just one kind, because you may waste your money like I did. I used the playtex drop ins. They have a nipple that is formed like a breast and the suction from the bag helped my son with his reflux by keeping air out of his milk.
only had one that needed supplementation and we used AVENT....graduated nipples. Michael would take that as easy as the breast...as long as Grandma or Daddy was feeding. He never would bottle feed for me.
I am currently nursing my second child. He is nine months old now. We use Avent bottles when someone has to give him a bottle, and he has always switched easily between breast and these bottles.
Hi M.! We used the Playtex VentAire bottles with no problem. I nursed most of the time, but sometimes I just needed a break so we started our son on the VentAire bottles when he was about eight weeks. He actually wouldn't take the wide-mouth bottles we received at our shower. I think it may be more about the flow. Every baby is different though. I hope you find something that works for you! My son refused any and all bottles. I've tried them all with no success, except for the Breastflow bottle, which worked sometimes. You can get one for about $5 at Target (it's much more expensive online). I ended up just working part-time until my son was 6 months old so we just ended up having him go straight to the sippy cup. We use the Dr. Browns and a Platex bottle, but use the WIDE with both. Both daughters have done well with them. I nursed my now 3 year old for a year and am currently nursing a 4 month old with no problems transitioning between breast and bottle.I wil say that a few weeks ago I purchased a gift of bottles for an expecting friend from her registry at Babies R Us and they were super cool breastfeeding bottles.unfortunately I do not recall immediatley who made them. It was not a major brand (nuk, dr brown, born free, platex) and I believe they are newer - but they were advertised as breastfeeding bottles and I could see why. Structurally they looked more breastlike. Sorry I am not more specific. Ultimately, I would go with a wide. Congratulations on the new baby!
When I had my children I used the playtex nurser. Less gas and the bags are disposable. When my daughter had her baby, we tried using Dr. Brown also. Didn't really notice that much difference.
I used the playtex "flat" nipple and usced the same "pacifier" because I was trying to cut down on "nipple confusion". I would pump and my husband would feed her with the bottles, but when she was 4 months old, he went out of town for a month and no more bottle! So until she was 1, I was her only source! But looking back, I wouldn't change that for anything! :)
I nursed and used bottles after 3 months I liked playtex drop ins also. I liked their nipples the best and being able to get the air out of the bag. My first child did best with Dr. Brown the third did best with playtex. Sometimes they let you know.

I have used Dr. Brown's bottles with both of my daughters and neither of them had any problem switching between breast and bottle. They also didn't not have any problems with excessive gas, which I think the bottles help with. I'm a big fan of Dr. Brown's, especially now that you can buy them BPA-free. Congrats, and good luck!

I breast feed two and one prefered Dr. Brown's and the other would only take Nuk. I would wait until the baby is here to buy more than one of anything. Buy one of each that you are considering then see what baby likes.
